  • Dual Gold coffee , creamy
Color: 1kg-gold/Coffee
This review is for the gold coffee dual silk pla. I've used up a little over half the role. It always prints well. The coffee tones the gold down a bit so it looks less "yellow" like a lot of other goldd. I think a pure mix of the two would actually make a perfect gold. But the dual works too. I print 65 bed. 205. No issues. A little stringy since the humidity where I live has went up. But it's still less than my other silks right now so I would say it's better on that than most other brands. I saw this color combo in a YouTube video and thought I'd give it a try. It's definitely a favorite. Here is a pic of the Harry Potter golden egg (free model on makerworld) with this gold. I just can't think of a better word than it looks "creamy". ... show more

  • Satin Rainbow filament: Very attractive filament which pretty quickly changing colors (good)
Color: 1kg-basic-rainbow
I originally posted a negative 2 star review calling out the poor adhesion. But in the end the fault was all mine with slightly off levelling. Once we got the bed REALLY levelled (and I am using Sauve hair spray for extra safety), we have had no problem with this filament. I am attaching a photo that is actually 8 separate prints with the first one being 11.5 hours and as you can see no elephant feet etc. It is so reliable that I have left it running overnight a number of times and not been disappointed. I am running at 210 degrees centigrade for nozzle and 60 degrees centigrade on the bed and 50mm per second print head movement. I am running with a Brim but it might not really be needed. Bad note: I got two spools of this and neither one had the promised extra gift with glue etc. so very disappointed with that. ... show more

  • This filament has terrible quality control.
Color: 1kg-basic-rainbow
This filament is cheap, and that's great. It also looks pretty cool when you get a successful print. But I've now had two prints fail because the filament is not a consistent diameter. The first print that failed was ~10 minutes away from finishing a 17hr print. Fortunately, I was able to print just the remaining portion and glue it on, but the reason the print failed is there was a ~6cm section of filament that was over 0.5mm too large, which jammed my Bondtech BMG and was a pain to remove. Thankfully, the second failed print was a much shorter one, but the reason the failure happened was again due to filament that was way out of spec. This time, the filament got through the extruder, as it appears to only have been ~1cm long. But, the section of filament has such a large diameter that I can't even pull it out of the short piece of bowden tube that's being used for the direct drive from the BMG to the E3D V6. I can accept a roll having one section of filament that's out of spec - especially when it's inexpensive like this was. But two sections that break a print - one of which requires me to pull out and cut a new Bowden tube is unacceptable. I won't be buying this brand's filament again as 3d printing is difficult enough - I don't need any more stress because the filament itself might completely jam up my extruder system. That being said, the filament does look good if you manage to get a good section of the roll, and it sticks to the bed just as well as any other PLA based silk filament I've used. ... show more

  • Fun color
Color: Blue Rainbow
Produced beautiful prints, I had to run it at 235c but that isn't abnormal for silks on my machines. The color lengths seem to be different sizes and shifted through green blue much slower than other colors but I didn't mind that

  • a bit rough on the nozzle, and not as many colors as advertised
Color: 1kg-glow Rainbow
This stuff glows awesomely, but it's a tad on the rough side, and if you have a lot of nozzle drags over it, the roughness can wear your normal brass surprisingly fast. Still worth it for how cool the glow in the dark looks, but mechanisms with print in place elements can feel "gritty", and brittle. Color shift is way less pronounced than advertised, mine so far has been almost entirely green, and I've yet to get at any of the blues or oranges in my prints yet. The glow is bright, but not the longest lasting, but works a treat for fishing lures if you charge them with a light before casts. Besides the fact that it's not as rainbow-y as advertised, it's great glow in the dark filament. ... show more

  • Not so great for me
Color: 1kg-basic-rainbow
Hoping I just got a faulty roll, because the colors are amazing! I printed with this in the past, this is my second roll. The first one did fairly well, I was overall "okay" with it; but it was far from perfect. While printing with this roll, I thought something was wrong with my printer. After changing a bunch of settings and adjusting for 3 days, the quality of the prints it not getting better; so, I changed the filament to my other usual brand and the printer is printing fantastic again. With this roll, the filament is not coming out correctly. Sometimes it drips out in excessive amounts while the extruder is lowering to begin prints. Then when it starts to "print", no filament comes out for several inches across the plate. There is a lot of stringing, and several filament zits on my prints. In addition, the layers are way off and falling apart when I remove the print from the bed. I researched and adjusted everything I could in the settings to correct issues, and nothing has helped. After removing it from the printer to swap to ( my usual) another brand, I noticed that there are frays randomly on the filament that is still on the roll. I will include pictures. I used way over half the roll, trying to figure out what was wrong..........and didn't think to swap it out, DUH on my part. The frays are noticeable on parts of the filament that have not unwound yet through the feeder. I hope its was just a bad roll! The frays are telling me that's what it is, but I probably won't buy again. ... show more
