I want to begin by saying I don't know anything about RC, but I know enough to say that thing is fun! This RC comes with two batteries and has a pretty good range—at least out to 120 feet away. It also has good endurance. I've amused my friends when bringing it out and everybody wants to give it a go. The RC has little headlights (more of a telltale than actual headlights) so a guy can play with this thing at night and be able to see which way to little truck is going. The RC has enough power to do spinnies on my gravel driveway over and over again and the motors don't seem to get hot. It is easy to turn on and use and I highly suggest this little truck as an entry RC for anybody. It is fun to play with! ... show more

I want to start this by making a note of an error I read in another review. The complaint was that in going from forward to reverse you had to push the trigger forward twice in order to get into reverse. That is normal with RC cars with braking. When you press forward while it is moving it will use the motors to brake and slow it down. Going straight into reverse from forward would break things in the driveline. Anyway, this is a very neat little truck with a unique design. The solid rear axle, dual motor setup is not something you'd normally see, but I have to admit it is pretty cool and allows for some interesting driving compared to a traditional setup. The truck drives great and handles most environments fairly well. It's snappy without being too fast for beginners. The remote is nice to use and I have no complaints at all. It has all the normal throttle and steering trims you'd expect in this price range. The two major issues I have is: 1.) The protective coating on the body. In order to remove it properly you have to remove the roll cage entirely which is 5 or 6 screws. After it's removed you can peel the plastic off easily. Without removing it it will leave bits of plastic all around the roll cage. This is a common issue with these Chinese RC cars that I don't understand. Not the end of the world, but annoying. 2.) Parts. There is a spare front drive axle for this truck, but that is the only replacement part available. The seller does not have any listings for spare parts and I was not able to find any. Once you break something, that's it. You can try and glue it back together or retrofit other parts but you're dead in the water should that happen. Which it will, inevitably at some point. If this is just a gift for a small child, it should be fine, but take note of the above. Could make for a frustrating holiday or birthday. ... show more

This is a must buy for anyone who is remotely intrigued by RC cars. The adjustable max speed control on the controller (uses 2 AA batteries not included) allows beginners to get accustomed to the operation of maneuvering the car forward and backwards with the turn wheel at the low speed setting. The speed dial can be turned up as one gets more experienced with the speed, because at max speed this bugger moves FAST. Another dial on the controller adjusts the trim of the wheels so the car can drive and reverse straight. The RC car itself is impressively built with mechanical spring shock absorbers, huge tires that can traverse through all types of terrain, and a light outer shell body that locks in place with 4 locking pins. Spare locking pins are included in a baggy, along with an extra wheel control arm, (2) battery, charger and a screwdriver. I had a incredibly fun time using this RC at its max speed setting. It has the ability to almost stop on dime so I didn't run into my cats, steers easily and has a good turning radius for its big tires. Don't sleep on this. ... show more

This 1:16 scale RC car is the bomb! I have purchased many RC cars in my life, and I can say for sure that this is one of those that a kid really wants. This thing is easy, light, well-built, and comes with 2 good size batteries. This car lets you go as slow or as fast as you want. You can make it crawl slowly, and you can make it go fast. Impressive speed & handling, hobby grade RC adjustability options for your own style of driving. Originally bought as a gift but after a test run, I end up keeping it for myself cause the size is perfect for indoor fun for me & with my dogs. No problem recommending this RC.

    • Fast and Fun
This RC car is pretty quick, seems like a very good build for this price point. Suspension has a good amount of travel and from what I can tell there is one spot on the front and 2 on the rear for the shocks to be moved to in order to adjust the settings. Shocks are plastic with metal springs, that could be a relatively easy and budget friendly upgrade to use an oil-filled shock instead if desired. I ran this over my gravel driveway that has some stones about 2" in size and this must have hit one at full speed causing it to flip onto its back. Otherwise it stayed upright when expected. My main criticism is in the steering, it seems to be a bit restricted causinga very wide turn radius. It does appear that there might be another mounting point for the tie rods so maybe that will help. I do like that there are heat-sinks included on the motors, and that the tray has a built-in dust and rock cover. The front axles are exposed, they are plastic with metal pins, a spare axel was included in the packet along with some extra screws and body clips. A small note on the body clips, I like that they have rubber pull tabs. I have slightly larger fingers so the standard clips are sometimes difficult to grab and remove. I also like that the power switch on the car can be pressed without removing the body, but also isn't going to easily be pressed accidentally during use. Controller is responsive, maybe not all the bells and whistles of more expensive ones and it feels quite light for the size, but it functions as expected. Overall I'm pleased with this RC car for this price point, seems like it would compare to others I've even paid a bit more for. ... show more
