  • Decent Off-road truck
Style: 1/10 RC Car
I like all sizes of Off-Road RC trucks, but have to say the 1/10 and 1/12 sizes i do like a lot. Well, i haven't had bigger yet, but those tend to get more pricey. When i got this truck outside, it rips right thru the grass and is quick on the road. With it's larger size and big tires, it was able to drive right up over the curb too. I like the strength and durability of the chassis as it seems beefy enough to take some hits. The remote is a basic setup. It does give you trim options for steering and allows you to turn down or up the speed. Turning it down, allowing a more crawl drive is nice, but it really hinders the torque making driving over some things more difficult. I do like how the body cover is attached, just one point of locking it on sure beats the pins i always lose. My CONS: The #1 thing i don't like is that there is NO power button or switch. It's on when you put the battery pack in. Honestly, it just seems odd. #2 - is how the battery is secured and removing it. There are 4 small clips that hold it in place with no clear way to remove the batter. Well, unless you pry it out, which in itself feels like those clips won't last long. #3 - The amount of plastic pieces, especially in the suspension. The suspension arms are a heavy duty plastic, much like the chassis itself of which i do like. But the shock reservoir and tie rods are a cheaper plastic? Honestly, I've never seen RC shocks that were plastic. And a car like these, there is usually an adjustment to stiffen the shocks, but the plastic shocks don't have that and they are quite soft shocks. The rims are also plastic, so if you get to the point of replacing tires, the rims will need to be replaced too. Those tie rods are the lesser plastic too. #4 - the wheelie bar. This by far is the lesser of things i don't care for. Being that it's 4x4, it rarely pulls the front wheels up. But when i did, it seemed like the bumper dragged, just skipping the wheelie bar, which in itself is a very floppy deterrent. Overall, i do like this truck, but i'm sure in no time at all, i'll be working on ways to upgrade the lesser parts. My biggest concern is the way the battery pack is held in, probably won't be long and it will have a velcro strap holding it in ... show more

  • Works Pretty Well
Style: 1/14 Brushless RC Car
I have a couple similar RC trucks to this one however, I've noticed that there are some slight differences between this one and my other ones. This one seems to have a slightly better motor, the other ones have a black colored motor, this one is blue. Why does this matter? The black ones overhead and burn out, so far in a few rounds of testing, the one in this truck (the blue one) has survived just fine, in fact, it hasn't even really gotten very hot as far as I could tell. The blue motor is slightly longer than the black motor and the wiring comes out of the back of the blue motor as opposed to the wiring coming out of the front side of the black motor. Additionally, this one includes two cool looking body shells where the other ones only came with a single shell. Also, the remote, although very similar, is a little more advanced than the others. The others just have an on/off switch, speed adjustment and steering trim adjustment. This one has a on/off switch, steering trim adjustment, steering rate adjustment, throttle rate adjustment, as well as switches for reversing both the throttle and trim if you and to. One issue that I did notice is that sometimes when you attempt to start moving the car just sits there and stutters. If you give the car a little push to get the motor spinning it starts working normally and usually only happens when going from a complete stop. I also think it tends to happen more when the motor is cold. I had a similar issue with one of my other cars where I had replaced a burned-out motor with a larger new one and after using it for a few times, the problem went away. I hope that's the case with this one! If it doesn't clear up after a few more uses, I'll update the review and remove a star from the rating because of the motor issue. If you do want to upgrade the motor, a 2845 (I chose the 2800kv version) fits these cars nicely, you will also need a 17 tooth pinion gear for a 3.175mm shaft as well. ... show more

  • Fast/Fun Car. Reverse is Flakey. No Off Switch. Difficult Battery Replacement.
Style: 1/10 RC Car
The ITEFDTUTNE RC car was a lot fun right out of the box. In the first few minutes of play, however, I noticed the trigger wouldn't engage reverse unless pushed all the way forward. There's a troubleshooting blurb about allowing the trigger to center before going into reverse but who has time for this when you're about to crash into a curb. As others have noted, the battery removal is horrible. It's held tight by clips that are meant to secure something that's seldom removed. I normally have to use a small flat head screwdriver to remove the battery so I'm pretty sure the clips will break soon. In addition, the batteries seem proprietary. If I lose them, I'm not entirely sure where to get new ones. I feel like a broken record, but I'll also restate what others have mentioned regarding no on/off switch. If you let the car sit for a while, it will power down as indicated by the lights. To turn the car back on, I have to remove/reinsert the battery with the hard-to-use-soon-to-break clips. Lastly, I noticed that many of the parts are plastic. I'm not an RC enthusiast but I have seen cars where the high stress parts seem to be metal. With the reverse being as finicky as it is, I think it's just a matter of time before I break a suspension or steering component so here's to hoping the broken parts are easily sourced/replaced. ... show more
