I've done one's like Otterbox and lighter duty ones in the past. Only had this for a few days but ... out of the box this impresses me on several fronts -- durable feel without being a honking huge chunk of plastic; functions like a place for my stylus, really secure magnetic closure and stand to keep it inclined without slippage; style is utilitarian but not clunky. I feel pretty confident that I can throw this in my backpack and not worry about breakage. Last -- while it is not the cheapest case on the planet neither does it break the bank. The fit is perfect and feels very protective around all sides and corners. The feel of the material is soft and easy to hold. The magnets are strong and the base feels very secure in the various positions. Highly recommend.

This case was highly rated and I had high expectations. It met most of those expectations. This case offers protection, it looks good, and it has strong magnets that allow for 8 viewing angles. The only reason I took of 1 star was even thought its a great design, to me its has 2 flaws: 1) when the front flap is open all the way and it touching the back of the case, there's no magnets to keep it there. 2) at that same position, one cant use the rear camera because the front flap covers the rear camera. To me these are minor flaws and don't bother me too much. Overall, this is still one of the best cases around. Get it! ... show more

    • Well made and designed, except…

Overall, I would say this is a very well-made case. Fits my iPad Air GEN five perfectly and it’s easy to get the iPad in an out of the case when needed. I like the way the magnetic stand works and it works very well. I was a little doubtful about how it held the pen, but after having it for a while, I see no problems with that whatsoever. I’m retired so I can’t see how it would hold up to the rigors of travel in and out of a briefcase, but I think it would do very well. I do wish the cover when you flip it open and all the way back would magnetically stick to the back of the case base , but the fold out stand is there and that probably can’t occur. The other thing about the cover, one folded completely back, making it easy to hold. The laptop up is that it covers the camera. Another cover that I looked up ice big, and had a flap that folded down and a magnet held it open, so you could use the camera. Too late to send back. It is a little pricey and gets more so if you pick a color other than black. I’ve never understood that marketing from various retailers to charge more based on color. Given its features and quality out of the box, $60 for the black one was an OK price. I wouldn’t pay 70 for a case no matter what the color is though. Easily buy again. Update: after using the pencil for a while, I wanted to get some sort of silicone cover for it because it is kind of an uncomfortable thing and slippery to use. The problem is between the case and any kind of a pencil cover things don’t allow for the pencil to charge. Without a pencil cover the pencil itself charges just fine while it’s in the case storage area. Silicone covers that you can get for the pencil are very thin but between the case and the silicone, it just won’t charge. It would be nice to see this case designed a little bit better to accommodate that type of pencil cover. ... show more

Very well designed and made. Should be durable and provide good protection for the tablet without weighing and looking like an atomic bomb shelter. Also offers good options for holding/carrying the Apple Pencil. What's not to like? Highly recommended.
