  • Just meh.
I compare every cartridge I buy to Kwadrons, which seem to be the current gold standard in the industry. Are they expensive? Sure. But every single Kwadron you pull out of the box works every time. These on the other hand, have a lot of little problems that add up to a sub par cartridge. For starters, many of these cartridges have alignment issues. You can hear the needle rattle, and you can see the misalignment. Basically every single cartridge I've used so far is just a bit off from center. And I bought something like 10 boxes. So I'm working off a pretty big sample. The cartridges hold a laughably small amount of ink. I use Dynamic which is pretty thin so your mileage may vary with this but compared to other cartridges I've used, I feel like I'm dipping more than I'm ripping with these. I'll pull a 1-2 inch line and be totally out of ink. If I try to gather more then it just pools and spurts everywhere. I'm also unimpressed with the quality of the lines I get with these. I'm not sure what the cause is exactly but it almost feels like I'm lining with a shader with these, like the needles are spaced too far apart or something. I can clearly see the gaps between the needles with these, and I don't seem to have the same struggle with other cartridges I've tried. The finger ledge is highly overrated and also can be a real annoyance when you are inserting and removing the cartridge. They don't have a proper register on the plastic casing of the cartridge so the finger ledge tends to get twisted around when you try to twist the cartridge in or out. Also, they are a pain to open. The part where you are supposed to be able to peel the paper off the plastic is glued down just like the rest so I just have to push the cartridge to rip the paper open, not ideal. Maybe it was a bad batch but across 10 boxes I have the same problem with every single cartridge I try to open. The boxes aren't labeled in a way that is easy to read when they are stacked in a drawer. This is a nitpick but the box art is low key kinda ugly. It doesn't have a very "professional" look to it. I guess that just comes down to taste but tbh I would be embarrassed if I ever opened a drawer full of these in front of a real client. Here's my takeaway - if you're serious about tattooing and you are working on real people, just get Kwadrons or something. The extra cost is worth it, trust me. The precision and feel of those is just superior, and they will make your life much easier. If you're looking for inexpensive cartridges to run in practice skin, these might be OKAY but you'd be better off going for Stigma cartridges instead. ... show more

  • Da Vinci who?Only needles i use now.
Style Name: 1003RL
Ive been doing tatts for almost 20 years and i normally will not purchase needles off Amazon but the silcon grip caught my eye and this is now my 3rd box. I love them. I only use zombie gen 2 needles now. The silicone grip actually meets up seemlesly with pen style rotary machines and then tapers to the needle so its more like griping a pen. Great job zombee . Keep up the great work! ... show more
