I remembered having similar chairs when I was growing up, so when I saw these I felt fairly confident that they would be a win. The padded seats are something everyone in the house loves. The design makes them difficult to tilt back in, which has been a pet peeve of mine that both my husband and oldest son would do in our old dining chairs, so I consider that the biggest win! The came backs are free of any loose ends that could snag clothing, and the cushions are super easy to clean (I have young kids, so they are constantly spilling things). I used the brown leather seating to go with my IKEA table and I am really pleased with the quality for these $85 chairs. The cane back provides a pop of color and the leather cushion is comfortable and will probably hold up against my cats. The cane back does not support my back, but I am taller than 6’ so you may be better suited. The height of these chairs are comfortable for me, but a bit high for my wife who is a foot shorter than I am. A notice is provided in the manual that the cane may have some defects, but I only experienced very mild fraying. I am over the chairs weight limit, but I did not feel like I was about to break the chair. I will make an edit if there are any future issues, but so far I am impressed with these chairs and intend to buy another set in a week or so. Update: The chairs have held up very well to daily use for the past several months. My wife complains that sometimes the seat sticks to the bottom of her thighs, but I haven’t had that issue. My cats lay on the seat when they are not in use, so they give their seal of approval. The only issue I have experienced is some difficulty when pulling the chairs out from under the table. Their weight distribution causes them to get caught on their back bar and there is not an ergonomic way to pull the seat out. People will leave the chairs pulled out because of the inconvenience which I didn’t see with my last set of chairs. This might not be an issue for you and is only a mild inconvenience. Overall I am very happy with the look of the chairs and I still believe they are comfy enough for daily use. I have received several compliments on how nice they look. ... show more

UPDATE/EDIT: Was able to contact customer service through the “contact seller” option. They are sending two new chair backs to replace the damaged ones. Super happy with the prompt help. Updating review to reflect that! The chairs themselves are great. The caning isn’t to yellow, seats are nice and firm, seem sturdy. However, ours arrived with issues. The backs of two chairs have some white residue with clear fingerprints in them. It will not come off with a dry, soft cloth, nor with a slightly damp soft cloth. Any attempt to push down a bit to see if pressure helps results in the black finish coming off. Not sure what this substance is, but it’s not budging and it’s quite noticeable since the chairs are black. Super disappointed. ... show more
