Easy setup and very sturdy. I don't have to use a weight to keep it from tipping over with my larger soft boxes. Wish it was a little more compact as I travel around with it but then I don't think it would be as sturdy.

    • Decent light stand, but the tension knobs are a weak point

I had high hopes for this light stand based on the description, but it fell short in one key area. Let’s start with the positives: the stand is sturdy and easy to adjust, and I like that it’s spring-cushioned for added safety when setting up or breaking down heavy lights. It’s also lightweight and folds up neatly for storage or travel, which is great for on-location shoots. However, one of the tension knobs that locks the height adjustment snapped off almost immediately—and not because of over-tightening or excessive weight. I was just securing it normally, and the plastic molding holding it on gave out and broke off (making the stand useless... I had to toss it). For a stand marketed as “heavy duty,” this was really disappointing. A reliable stand shouldn’t fail after just a few uses. I'm still giving it 3 stars because it seemed otherwise well-made. Hopefully my situation was a fluke. ... show more

For it's price it does the job and more. Very sturdy and the quality is above expectations. Especially considering the price!!! The telescopic pole is not that high, but I mounted a 20 feet tall antenna on it, placed it outside and it worked like a champ! Rock solid while there was quite some wind! Thinking about buying another one so I can fix a long wire antenna between the two. The price is a no-brainer! ... show more
