  • Great portable air conditioner for the price, efficient and works well.
Color: White Size: 8,000 BTU+Drain Hose
Our older portable AC died and we needed a new one fast. This arrived in a few days time, and at the price it is wonderful. Much smaller than the old unit, easy to out together the window kit and hook everything up, and it really cools down the room fast! I like the front air ducting that puts the cold air into the room instead of shooting it up to the ceiling like our old one. I would definitely recommend this as a way to regulate temps in a small room that doesn't have AC. ... show more

  • AC works like a dream. Worth every penny, highly recommend it
Color: White Size: 8,000 BTU+Drain Hose
This portable ac is a lifesaver. Regular fans do nothing in my small apartment. Temps hit 89 yesterday in the Seattle area and I was so glad I had the foresight to order this back in June when it was still in the 50's. I knew from past summers that the heat was coming and it's going to be very hot. Installation was easy and fast. I recommend watching some videos where people show you step by step how to do it. I placed mine on top of my nightstand because this way my bed is not in the way of the airflow and the whole bedroom cools down in minutes. It's so powerful, it could freeze the nuts off a penguin. I was kind of surprised at how much water is draining out, it must be very humid here because that plastic 1 gallon bottle fills up with water after 4-5 hours of use. I'm going to get a big bucket so I will only need to empty it once a day. I'm very happy with this ac unit and I've noticed that just in my small building, 5 other apartments have this same type of ac installed. Hope we won't crash the grid. ... show more

  • Works
Color: White Size: 8,000 BTU+Drain Hose
This portable air conditioner works amazing but will put out a lot of heat if using it in a camper. I converted it into a dual hose and it works much better

  • This things is so COLD
Color: White Size: 8,000 BTU+Drain Hose
So we’ve had this for over a year now. I live in the southeastern United States, and we bought this to use with our generator in case the power goes out during tropical storms. Little did we know, we would be using it all the time. We have a two-story house, and our son lives upstairs over the garage. So it gets hot and is less insulated than the rest of the house. He asked if he could borrow the AC because he is a computer gamer and has a computer and two monitors in a smaller room, where he keeps the door closed. It was a hotbox in there. Instead of him messing with the thermostat and cooling the rest of the house unnecessarily (that gets expensive), we let him use this unit in his room to keep the temperature around 72°. We love the fact that this has a remote, a thermostat where it shuts off if it reaches the desired temperature and turns on again when it’s time to cool, and we love the low noise hum when it is on. It’s so easy to set up, and very easy to transport (portable). My parents air conditioner at their house went out in July, so I brought this unit over to them to use for about three days. They set it up in their room and basically lived out of their room until the HVAC company could fix their home unit. They loved it. Their primary bedroom is around 350 ft.² and it kept it ice cold. They also decided to plug it in downstairs in the family room and kitchen area, and believe it or not, this 8000 BTU unit kept the entire 1200 ft.² cool! I wouldn’t recommend cooling that much square footage, but in a pinch, this thing was cranking out cold air. So now that my son is back off to college, the wife stole the unit from his room and put it into our primary bedroom. We can keep the rest of the house around 76°, and she loves keeping our room around 69°. She sleeps so much better now. Happy wife, happy life! ... show more

  • Almost JUNK!!! But it works! And I just ordered a 2nd one
Update Apr 2024: When I first bought this air conditioner, I was really disappointed. It was the end of the Summer 2023 and air conditioners were either outrageously expensive or out of stock everywhere and one of my portable air conditioners had just died. So, instead of shopping for a different air conditioner and sending this one back, I kept it and used it until late October. I learned to work around its shortcomings, and discovered some things I really liked. And to my surprise, despite its many shortcomings, it worked fairly well, so long as I never let it run for more than 6 or 8 hours without turning it off to cool down. I vowed to replace it before 2024 Summer. Now, it's April 2024 and it's time to replace it. But, there are several things that we like about this one. 1) It will cool our bedroom down fairly quickly. 2) It is much quieter than the other ones we have. 3) It will turn off completely when the room has reached the set temperature, and only turn back on when the room warms up a bit. This makes sleeping in the same room easier than with our other portable air conditioners (we have 3). We have a 20" box fan in the same room to circulate the air, and I cannot hear this air conditioner over the noise of the fan when both the fan and the air conditioner are on low fan. So....what to replace this with? Despite my experience with this air conditioner, I just ordered a 2nd ZAFRO 10000BTU portable air conditioner. We'll place it in my wife's home office where she cannot use the one that's in there because it's too loud. We'll put that one in my home office where the sound isn't an issue for me and throw out the portable air conditioner that I've been using for 5 years with low-coolant. End of Update When I first took this air conditioner out of the box, I was extremely disappointed. Clearly this was built by people who don't know what they're doing. I installed this air conditioner on Sunday, August 20th, 2023. It stopped producing cold air on Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023. The air conditioner still runs, but the air temperature coming out into the room is 70 degrees Fahrenheit (70F). I've tried draining the condensate -- there wasn't any more than a few drops of water. I've tried running it on Fan for 30 minutes in case the evaporator was frozen up. Still doesn't produce cold air. It has a built-in defroster, but the it's supposed to alter the lights on the panel to indicate that it was defrosting. It didn't appear to be defrosting. The filters are still completely clean. I don't know what else to try. Except to return it to Amazon for a refund. That really sucks because its over 100 outdoors, so the bedroom, without the portable air conditioner reaches 85F during the day. UPDATE from 3 days later: I went back to the manual and tried 1 more thing. Apparently this air conditioner can overheat if you use it too much. The manual said to turn it off and leave it off for 8 hours. Well, what do I have to lose? I turned it off and unplugged it from the wall. 12 hours later, when I returned to a very hot bedroom for the night, I plugged it back in, turned it to Air Conditioning and set it to 63F. Yipppeeee Cold Air!! 3 hours later it was downright chilly in the room. I'm not thrilled with this air conditioner -- it still overheats if I leave it on all day and all night, but it will get me through the remainder of the 2023 Summer. Instead of leaving it on all day, I have to turn it off in the morning and tolerate warmer than usual temperatures upstairs during the day. Next Spring (2024), we'll move this into my wife's home office and buy a better air conditioner for the bedroom that will run 24/7 at 65F for April to October without overheating. End Update. So, what about the air conditioner in general? Here's a list of the things I didn't like about this air conditioner, and a shorter list of things that I liked. 1) In cooling mode, the temperature of the air seemed to be the same as the set temperature. On the first day, I set it at 68F and it blew 69F air. That will never cool the room -- a 250 square foot 2nd floor bedroom. I set the temperature to 61F and soon it was blowing 61F degree air into the room. For 2 days I left it set at 61F and in the middle of the night I would turn the fan to low and change the set temperature to 66F and it kept the bedroom at 73F the rest of the night. Then during the day, I'd set it back down to 61F and turn the fan back to high. This is not great, but it will do for the remainder of the 2023 Summer. But on Tuesday, barely 2 days after I installed it, it stopped blowing air colder than 70F into a room of 85F air. In other words, it wasn't working anymore. It had overheated and stopped working. 2) The exhaust air port in the back is tiny, rectangular, and only 4" x 5". The exhaust hose which goes out the window is about 6 inches in diameter. So the exhaust port on the air conditioner body is 20 square inches, but the exhaust hose can accept more than 28 square inches. It seems the manufacturer made it appear to be bigger than it needed to be. It makes the air conditioner APPEAR to be more capable than it is. 3) Looking at the grill on the front of the air conditioner, where the air comes out into your room, the grill is 10" wide x 6.5" tall. Unfortunately, the actual vent behind the grate is only 4" wide by 6" tall. More bait and switch. Again, it APPEARS to be bigger than it actually is. That's an extra 6" in width that's not used and is only there for show. I would never have bought this air conditioner if I'd known the output vent was only 4" x 6.5". 4) Even on high, regardless of which mode is being used, the fan doesn't move much air. Certainly not enough to replace the hot air in a 250 square foot bedroom with cooler air in an hour or two. But it is fairly quiet, at least in comparison to the 10,000BTU air conditioner that I was replacing. But that one, pushed 48F air into the room. I could set it for 68F and it would keep the room on the chilly side all day and all night, until it died after 5 hard years of April to October use. I think I'll just buy another one of those. I bought the ZAFRO because it was cheaper than the Global Products air conditioner by a lot. Still, by putting a 20" box fan in front of the air conditioner and pointing the air conditioner's louvres at the fan, we could circulate the air throughout the room and within 6 hours, it was cool enough in the room to raise the set temperature to 66F. We were trying to decide whether to keep it or return it to Amazon last night. It wasn't ideal, but we could work with it, and at $244, it was a lot cheaper than the next one we were considering. Here are a couple of features that I like about this air conditioner. 1) When the room reaches the set temperature, this air conditioner turns off. It comes back on whenever the room warms up above the set temperature. This is a nice feature that I haven't seen on any of the other portable air conditioners that we have owned and used ( Global Products, Haier, Maytag, and Toshiba ). 2) This air conditioner is really quiet. I have a 20" box fan in front of the air conditioner. It helps to circulate the cold air throughout the room. With the box fan set on low, and the air conditioner's fan set it low, I cannot hear the air conditioner running behind the fan. The air conditioner will turn off when it reaches set temperature and back on when the room warms and I won't notice because I can't hear it over the sound of the Lasko box fan. ... show more
