  • Easy to install
Style: [Y01] 50+5 uF
This dual capacitator did save me from another expensive repair. Its shameful that when you are in a need of a repair you get charged so much for a simple DIY. My unit as many others have incurred in the failure to cool your home in the middle of a heat wave. Came home after a long work day and came to a not so comfortable home. My unit was blowing air but not cold at all. After contacting the emergency service yes it was fix but to a not so pleasant bill. I did a little research about the repairs and acquired this Capacitator as it was very identical to the one the AC repair technician installed. I am glad I took that decision as a year later from the repair the installed capacitator went out. Does make me think the other one was used cause that was fast. Well this one was super simple to install it is label to do the proper connections and after installation waited about 5 minutes and my unit was working normal again. I understand AC repair people do have to be paid for their services but certain things are possible as DIY with little of reading and caution. Make sure you read all guidance and if you are going to do the repairs yourself research all you are going to do or contact a professional for advice. ... show more

  • Good 45/5 dual run capacitor for AC unit
Style: [Y01] 45+5 uF
This is a 45/5 uF Dual Run/Start capacitor HVAC. The higher value represents 45 microfarads which is a measurement of the capacitance and the other side is 5 microfarads. The smaller value is connected to the fan - F - 2 terminals. The larger value connection is connected to the compressor- HERM - 3 terminals. The C is the common - 4 terminals. The multimeter reading I used shows this to be an accurate capacitor rating. I tested using common to HERM and common to FAN and the product works. I can't comment on longevity of this product. But I note that the product itself appears to be well made and a quality product. This is a good choice for the replacement of a similar rated capacitor for HVAC system. Also this is a good backup product. Thank you ! ... show more

  • Beat the Head - AND the repairmen
Style: [Y01] 50+5 uF
Dual Run Capacitor for Air Conditioner The first time our air conditioner went out after we bought our house, the repair man charged us over $300 to fix it! (That would be like 500 today) This time when it went out, we learned! Capacitors cost around $30 - $50, depending on which one, and that is a drop in the bucket compared to the refrigerant guys! YOU CAN DO THIS! (This is a review, not mechanical advice. This is an opinion. Proceed at your own risk. Not responsible for accidents.) Looking at our outdoor AC box was scary. It was a mystery to us. But we were in a heat wave, and we were broke, and we were desperate. It was easy! We took the panel off, completely stopped ALL power to the unit (careful here, there were TWO circuits that had to be stopped...One in the basement and one upstairs.) We used something conductive at the end but insulated at the handle to discharge the leftover power in the capacitor. We labeled the wires, took a photo for good measure, then replaced them one at a time anyway just to be safe. We put the unit back together, flipped the breakers back on, and viola! Saved hundreds of dollars. All because of this capacitor. ... show more

  • Life-saver
Style: [Y01] 45+5 uF
I decided to buy one of these after watching my AC repair guy come out and swap mine in 15 minutes then proceed to charge me $300. I thought that looks like something I can do! So I got this one. Well it's a good thing I did because my mother's AC ended up going out soon after mine did and I decided to try my AC repair tech prowess and toss this guy in there. After checking the numbers to make sure it was the same rating, and it was, I wired it up the same way and kicked the AC on. It worked! No more issues! I was so proud of myself for saving all that time and money waiting for the AC guy. So far it's been running strong and actually the starting of the AC is quieter now and sounds much healthier. I didn't realize how weak the old one was for how long. From now on I have decided to have at least 2 of these on hand at all times for our units. ... show more

  • Functional. Good backup capacitor.
Style: [Y01] 30+5 uF
It's a basic dual run AC capacitor. Box is simple, it comes in a too thin layer of bubble wrap so as a result, the one I received had a small ding on the side (But it wasn't leaking, so not worth returning) and when I put the meter on it, the readings were well within spec, so close that it was actually surprising. These cheap caps don't last forever, of course, but for what it is, a backup cap to keep around in case yours fails on a hundred degree day, this one fits the bill perfectly. Just order a new one the day you install it. Finally, a PSA: If you don't know what you're doing, leave this alone. These are not hard to replace, but if you don't know what you're doing, well, electric shock is not fun. ... show more

  • Great Cost-Saving Backup A/C Capacitor
Style: [Y01] 45+5 uF
PROS +Having one of these on hand will help save a ton of money and get you back online ASAP during a heatwave SUMMARY Recently we had a heat wave and our A/C unit stopped blowing cold air. When I searched for causes, there were numerous potential reasons so I resorted to calling in a HVAC guy. He was so busy that we had to wait through a 100-degree heat wave for 1 week before he had time to check out our system. When he showed up, he literally looked at the capacitor and put a new one in just like this version. His 10 minutes of work fixed everything but I was charged $300. Next time, I'll be planning to replace the capacitor on my own. ... show more

  • Works as expected!
Style: [Y01] 45+5 uF
I use these capacitors when one of my rental units has a problem with the AC system and a cap replacement is required. So far these are easy to swap in and out, and they seem to be working just the same as the original unit. I am glad that there is a label with the capacitor info printed on it in black against white, which makes it easy to see which one you have. All of the connectors seem tight and were not bent. Overall, 5 stars! These are a great value and work as expected. Thank you and I hope this was helpful! ... show more

  • Excellent value
Style: [Y01] 45+5 uF
It's a capacitor that is the standard size for most AC compressor units. My capacitor recently went out and this fixed it. It's up and running like a champ again. I'll be purchasing another to keep on hand for future use.
