  • Perfect fit
Style: [V03] 70+5 uF Round
This was a perfect fit, only a few minutes to put on. A/C works great now, I would recommend this.

  • It works like a charm! Difficulty level: 2 out of 10 to replace the capacitor
Style: [V03] 30+5 uF Round
My outside AC unit made a shrieking sound like it was about to explode in the middle of a hot night. I quickly shut it off and looked for a solution the next day. After watching many YouTube videos, I pinpointed the issue to be a broken capacitor (low current to the fan motor, so my fan didn't spin, causing pressure to build up). However, when I took out my old capacitor, I found it so rusted that I couldn't read the MFD and voltage info from it. Fortunately, I found the model number and manufacturer on the side of the outside unit. After some internet searching, I determined the MFD for the fan motor and compressor to be 5 and 30. My AC model uses 370VAC, and the replacement can be used for both 370VAC and 400VAC. I ordered the replacement with one-day shipping. The new capacitor was the same size as the old one with 3 prongs on top (common, herm, fan). I labeled the wires before removing the old rusted one, and it took me just 5 minutes to install the new one and reconnect the wires. It works like a charm! I saved myself hundreds of dollars. The repair itself is super easy and only requires a screwdriver to remove the panel and a pair of needle-nose pliers to detach the wires from the terminal (or you can use a eyebrow tweezer to do it). ... show more

  • Works perfectly. Just doesn't fit the bracket.
Style: [V02] 45uF Round
I replaced the unit shown in the photo, which was in an aged A/C condenser (American Standard). The unit fired right up after replacement and cooled perfectly. The only issue is that it was smaller than the old one (radius), so the bracket didn't hold it tightly in the panel. I had to fabricate a spacer, but it holds fine now. You can't beat the price. ... show more

  • Fine product working well
Style: [V03] 55+5 uF Oval
My HVAC was not working as AC compressor hums and doesn't kick. Immediately suspected the capacitor and a quick multimeter check confirmed that the Hern side of capacitor is not working and fan side was working correct. checked the hern uF capacity and ordered 5/55uF capacitor and we had overnight delivery. Put it in and HVAC is back on. I can't comment on the logngivity, but it appears a well made product for a reasonable price. ... show more

  • Works great, make sure to map the connectors correctly.
Style: [V03] 40+5 uF Round
The product works as intended. Aside from the post diagnosis time (I'll explain later) this took me 10 minutes to replace my AC capacitor, including turning off the power and replacing the capacitor. There two important things to know here: it matters less what brand you get. It matters waaay more that the capacitor you get matches up with your air conditioner's capacitor specs. If the old capacitor asks for 45+5uf, then get a capacitor that matches that rating. The voltage should also meet or exceed the air conditioner's specs. The other thing you keep inind is pay attention to the cable colors and connect them correctly. My old capacitor was bulging and all rusted out so I could not see what the original terminal labels were (C,F, HREM). I took a picture and hooked up the new capacitor the same way as the picture. When I turned the power back on, the compressor turned on for few minutes then turned off. I was going to call the HVAC repair people until I stumbled upon a post where if you hooked up the capacitor incorrectly, the compressor fan will run for a bit but then turn itself off because it is running out of spec. The air conditioner cover has your AC's wiring instructions, including what color wires should be plugged into your capacitor. Redoing the connectors as noted in the instructions did the trick. don't rely on the old capacitor's wiring position, and dont expect the wiring colors to be the same between HVAC companies. If you replace your capacitor and it short cycles recheck your connections before calling the pros. ... show more

  • Should have done this years ago - solved an issue that the AC company could not figure out
Style: [V03] 45+5 uF Oval
I have a 25 year-old Rheem air conditioner. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. It always blows air, but mysteriously it would start blowing hot air after it had cycled on at least once. I had TWO AC companies come out to troubleshoot, and both times they used the old "the coils were dirty" excuse, hosed off my exterior unit, and charged me $250 for the service. Oh yes, and with a statement that "the unit is about to go at any time, so we had better install a new one for only $10K...". After a couple of years of frustration with the unit but not having the budget for a new one, one day it just hit me that perhaps the capacitor was partially working, but maybe was not working well enough when hot to be able to start up the compressor. So I looked at the old one, saw that the specs matched this one, and a day later I had the new one arrive from Amazon. From start to finish it took me 15 minutes to replace, and I am VERY slow on these type of jobs typically. Just be sure the unit is not getting any power and put your system to "off" and you should be fine. Now the AC unit works EVERY time I need it. It is truly like having a new system. So like many things in life these days: you have to do it yourself. But at least for an AC capacitor it is an easy install and won't break your bank. I am tempted to send an invoice back to the AC companies that failed to recognize this, but that is another matter :-) Anyway, 5 strong stars for this as a perfect replacement for my Rheem. Oh yes, side-note, the picture looks identical to the old one, but the new one is just smaller. It still is held in place just fine and needed no modifications, but just be aware. ... show more
