  • Very easy to install!
This booster helped jumpstart a capacitor I had worked with. It was very easy and it went smoothly. The capacitor is working great right now and I would definitely recommend for the capabilities of this product.

  • Got my AC back up and running
Simple install. Give your compressor the extra kick it needs to get started

  • Does its job
Not really a standout from the competition except its reasonably priced. In fact, its 1/2 the cost from a popular appliance parts place here. Some more universal caps can be $75!

  • Luck to solve no cool air problem
Symptom: There was no cool air coming in even if the thermostat was shown cool on. Check: I went outside and opened the cap of the Central Air Conditioner. I pushed the contactor/starter button and heard sounds like won... only once, the fan and compressor didn't start. I re-entered power, and it repeated the same thing. Problem Guess: The contactor/starter or capacitor is broken. solution: I bought the contactor and SPP6 to replace them from Amazon. The SPP6 arrived quickly. I put it onto the Central Air Conditioner capacitor parallel, one connected to the common, and another one to compressor following the instruction. Then I started everything to test. Results: It has been working well, till now 2 weeks, hopefully longer. Lucky! ... show more

  • Neautral feelings on this product.
It is possible that this product does what it says, but my father purchased and installed it on his Gemini 105Mc Catamaran's A/C with no noticeable change in power load. Meaning, it appears this capacitor didn't change anything. I purchased one and installed on our Hunter 37.5, also with no noticeable change. We both purchased because we had read that with this little gem we could start and run our marina a/c off of a Honda eu2000i generator, but that wasn't the case. The Honda eu2000i has the power capability to run the a/c, but not to get over the start surge. We ended up using an ammeter to measure the power surge reduction at startup using a Supco and only realized a 5 amp drop in the start surge. So this device will probably work for someone who has an old compressor, which only needs a slight boost to get it running, but still won't work for someone trying to start their a/c on a Honda 2000. Another device we tried is the Dometic SmartStart, which reliably starts our Mermaid 16,500 btu a/c each and every time with the Honda eu2000i on eco mode. ... show more
