After reading many positive reviews, I bought one for my basement area, and it did an incredible job keeping humidity at ideal levels. Perfect size, beautiful, modern & clean look, quiet operation, light weight, and very easy to use. The unit ran great for 9 months, but a few weeks ago, it developed an issue, so I contacted Customer Service, and they responded very quickly!. After several troubleshooting steps, they offered to replace the unit since it's still under warranty. After some bumps on the road with the first unit I bought, Customer Service went long ways to make things right, sent a replacement unit that works flawlessly, and clarified every items of concern I had pointed out (original version below). 4 stars only because of that initial issue, otherwise the unit is definitely a 5 star product, especially with regard to the dehumidification, by far the best I have seen in this price range. It maintains humidity at 40% in a large humid basement, across an aisle and separate bedroom downstairs, with no issues. They clarified the following that I originally had pointed out: 1- Clearance of operation: 18 inches all around. The information given in one of the Q&A for the product was wrong, the manual will be corrected. 2- Automatic drain pump - E5 error was due to a malfunctioning pump. It is now working perfectly with a replacement unit. 3- Resume settings after power loss: The pump setting will not resume after power loss, while dehumidification setting does. The statement in the manual was poorly written, and it is confirmed that the unit will resume operation and then stop with a full tank, if the pump is not reactivated manually. Original review is below. All in all, it all boiled down to a defective pump and the manufacturer was definitely behind their product and made things right. **Pump defective, and wrong information This unit is very disappointing. I needed 3 things, on top of an obvious decent dehumidification: 1- Clearance for proper operation. The manufacturer here told me 50 cm. The manual says 18 inches in a page (which is less than 50 cm), and 20 cm on another page. 2- Automatic drain pump. It does have it, but it doesn't work. Tried everything, the hose is not clogged, the fitting is not clogged. It will just activate the pump (very loud!) for 90 seconds, no water going through the hose, and either end with an E5 error or just resume operation. 3- Resume setting after power loss. They had told me it does. Well no it doesn't. The unit restores humidity set point and fan speed, but will not resume the pump setting, nor the swing function of the blower. On top of that, the manual says something, in poor English, about the unit will leak if the pump drain hose is installed but the pump selection (on the control panel) is OFF. Great, so if I have a power outage at my vacation home, the unit will restore and will leak water all over the floor? How about at least you let the tank get full, and stop the unit on a tank full alert? Or just restore the pump function at power loss, if it worked at least you could leave the unit unattended. I have contacted Customer Service on a Saturday. The gave me a 1982 answer, after getting my order information, that says I'm on my own until Monday, they are off on the weekend. On Monday, I'll be 3 hours from here and back to work. With all this, after wasting hours between installing and troubleshooting, I am repackaging the thing and returning as soon as I can. ... show more

The day our dehumidifier was delivered we had a freak failure of a PVC elbow in the garage attic. Sprayed water overnight for about eight or nine hours. Setup was quick and simple, and the wheels make it easy to move around. The dehumidifier dried out the particle board quickly so there was no swelling. It kept the Sheetrock ceiling from collapsing because it dried it so quick. I purchased this to help lower the humidity in our house during our hot Texas summers so I know I picked the right one after seeing its superb performance in the garage.     • Compact Dehumidifier, Effective and Easy to Maintain

I purchased the Waykar 2000 Sq Ft dehumidifier for my downstairs rec room which is about 600 square feet. The unit is compact and powerful. I really like the feature that allows various humidity percentage settings and once reached, the machine automatically turns off. I have mine set to 50% humidity and the bin is full after about 8-10 hours. We've also used the continuous drainage port which works well. The unit comes with the hose and we had the water draining into a sink while we were out of town. The unit isn't extremely noisy when running. It's the equivalent of a box fan. We contacted Waykar customer service to get assistance with a few questions and they were resolved to our satisfaction. Tina with Waykar Customer service was prompt, courteous and professional in helping us troubleshoot and resolve our questions. Waykar offers a 1 year warranty which is great. I would also recommend buying the Asurion extended protection if your budget allows. Overall, I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for an effective and compact floor dehumidifier. ... show more
