  • TECHNICAL SPECS: Jaw Width 6"; Jaw Opening 4.6"; Thread Depth 3" ; Polished 2.6" x 2.75" steel anvil ; Replaceable serrated steel jaw pads ; 120 degree Swivel base has 3 mounting holes.
  • SWIVEL BASE: 120degree swivel base featuring 2 lockdowns, allowing you to adjust the direction of the jaws. Further to this serrated grooved jaws provide an excellent vise grip.
  • HOW TO USE: Make sure vise is securely mounted to the workbench and the swivel base lock is secure. Open the vise by turning the vise handle counterclockwise. Place item between the serrated jaws. Close the vise by turning the vise handle clockwise until the item is snug in the serrated jaws, continue to tighten until you can no longer move item. Don't over tighten as this may damage item and or the vise. When finished working on the item, turn screw handle counterclockwise to release the item.

Description

The Yost Vises BV-6 6" bench vise is an all-purpose bench vise. A staple for any home workshop, no matter what your job is. Built for durability and dependability, this vise is constructed from 30, 000 PSI cast iron. The replaceable serrated jaws will prevent objects from moving around once you have clamped them in place. A large anvil on the back of the vise is perfect for forming and shaping metal pieces. The anvil is machined to provide a smooth work surface. The 120 degree swivel base allows this vise to be positioned in to clamp parts with ease. The dual lockdowns on the vise are designed to keep the vise in place once in position. The acme threaded main screw provides smooth operation.

This is actually my second purchase of this vise. I have one in my basement work shop and now this one is for the bench in my shed. Look, it’s a $25 vise that’s sadly made in Commieland. I hate that but I gotta be realistic. I just cannot justify spending $300 on something that I rarely use. For my infrequent use this will do. It will hold a mower blade for sharpening. It will hold a small project that I’m welding. It will act as a third set of hands when necessary. It will fail if you try to abuse it. Just know that up front and be realistic. You’ll be fine. For the price it’s a fairly decent vise. I would buy it again. Well, hell-I did. lol Made in China 🇨🇳 Unfortunately I still have to recommend Thanks for reading ... show more

I just got this for my husband . He needed a vise for working on our firearms , and changing hangun sights along with working / building and cleaning Ar-15 's. He said it is the perfect size , and the quality of the build and material of the vise is unreal ! The powder coating is perfect no flaws anywhere. For a vise under $40 u can't ask for better . Mounted easy with the use of 3" inch legnth and 5/16 diameter bolts along with washers and lock washers . Holds solidly onto his work bench . It is not a big vise in size , if you need big heavy duty vise , your best getting the next few sizes up he said . But for our needs , our firearms , and most home projects , it's all u need .
