My cigarette lighter charger always vibrated loose and I was constantly having to ensure it was pushed in. NO MORE!!! This item was a breeze to install and works perfectly. I replaced the lighter outlet in my 2015 jeep Wrangler. I had to open the hole in the plastic panel just a tiny bit to allow for it to insert. Easy work for a dremel tool. Made connections to the existing lighter wiring and I was in business. It comes with spade connectors and everything you need. I soldered the wiring instead of using the connectors but even with that, installation took MAYBE 15 minutes! ... show more

USB charging ports are as advertised, however if your charging cables aren't compatible with the technology then you won't see any fast charging results...you could easily spend twice what this unit costs getting the proper cables to allow you use the fast charging capability. Voltage meter is accurate enough for the layman, but off by 0.2-0.3 volts pretty consistently. Not a big deal in most cases, but just know that if you're expecting pinpoint accuracy you will be disappointed. UPDATE: AFTER 3 MONTHS ONE CHARGING PORT DOES NOT WORK AND VOLTAGE METER FLICKERS AND GOES IN AND OUT BUT EVEN WHEN WORKING THE FLICKERING IS SO SEVERE THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE OUT THE NUMBERS. WELL I SHOULD NOT HAVE SAID IMPOSSIBLE - YESTERDAY THE NUMBERS WERE CLEARLY VISIBLE AND SHOWING 15.9 VOLTS. I'M NOT AN AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRICIAN BUT I'M GUESSING THAT'S OFF BY A COUPLE VOLTS AT LEAST. DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DRILL A 1" DIAMETER HOLE IN YOUR TRIM PANELS FOR A PRODUCT THAT MIGHT CRAP OUT IN 3 MONTHS? This was purchased for portable and emergency fast charging for cell phones - e.g. work great on my Samsung Galaxy S8, but also any other USB powered gear. The USB socket device is designed for use with battery and other 12V to 24V DC power sources. I replaced the ring lugs with Johnson power pole 30A connectors for easy hookup to amateur radio power supplies in bench and portable environments. The unit has an LED display of input voltage from the power source. This provides good information about how your power source is doing against the charging load. I notice fluctuation in voltage, likely in response to the quick charging regime. The charging voltage thus provides an indication of the state of charge if you know what to look for in your equipment. Most simple power supplies do not have voltmeters built in, so this unit adds that feature. The design is practical and rugged and while I got it for the portable and emergency use cases, this may find it's way into every day use on the workbench. ... show more

I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. Nice METAL quality and finish looks great. Better than OEM. Fit pushed right in on my Honda and was very snug. Didn't bother with the lock ring even. BOTH PORTS CONFIRMED **FAST CHARGING** on a Samsung Galaxy S10+. Awesome!! Update: the voltmeter does read significantly LOW. My OBD2 and handheld multimeter shows about 0.5 volts higher than this display. So don't rely only on the display. Charging works great still. ... show more

For nearly 10 years and 96,000 miles my Kawasaki Voyager 1700 had a 12v cigarette lighter style power point that I never used because the connectors would always jiggle out. I bought this before heading out on an a 6,300 mile ride. Installation was a quick 10 minute job and required no additional drilling. It fit like it was made for the bike. With this I was able to always have my Garmin Virb charged and ready to record the moments of my journey. It's also great to immediately see the status of your battery. I used to this on the cigarette lighter port on my 06 STI. I had to grind the port out a little bit since this is slightly bigger than a normal cigarette lighter but I was able to make it fit in the same location and the door still closes is over it. Installation was a breeze as I was able to push the pins out of the factory harness and slide them directly onto the prongs of this (even as locking features) I'm surprised at how accurate the voltmeter seems to be normally around 12.5 with the car in accessory mode what goes down if I turn on the blower fan or other accessories and normally stays around 14.4 when the engine is on. I have a Moto z and my wife has a Samsung and both of them see it as a turbo/fast charger. ... show more

I bought two of these, one for my car and one for my pickup. As others have said, it's a little bigger than the standard cigarette lighter socket. So I had a difficult time making it work in the pickup, which has a cigarette lighter located inside a pullout ashtray. I had to do some heavy modifications to make it work. However on my car I was able to push really hard and twist it into the existing hole in the plastic dash. It was so tight that I didn't bother putting the plastic nut on the backside. Both seem to charge my phone pretty fast, much better than the cheap adapters that don't charge as fast as your phone discharges while using GPS. I'm satisfied, and it is nice to see the battery voltage on my car, a 2009 Honda, which doesn't have a ampmeter in the dash.
