  • Excellent Welding Helmet for DIY Enthusiasts
Style: LYG-L500A-CP Cyberpunk
I've been using the YESWELDER True Color Auto Darkening Welding Helmet for various welding tasks, and it has truly exceeded my expectations. The auto-darkening feature works seamlessly, providing instant protection as soon as I start welding. This has significantly improved my comfort and efficiency during projects. The true color view is fantastic, allowing me to see more clearly and accurately without the green tint typical of other helmets. It makes a noticeable difference in the quality of my work, especially when dealing with detailed welds. Comfort is another highlight of this helmet. The adjustable headband fits securely without causing discomfort during extended use. This is crucial for long DIY sessions, reducing fatigue and allowing me to focus on the task at hand. One minor drawback is the sensitivity adjustment. It took a bit of fiddling to get it just right, but once dialed in, it works perfectly. The wide shade range is a great feature, accommodating different welding types effortlessly. This welding helmet has been a reliable addition to my DIY toolkit, enhancing both safety and performance in my welding projects. It's a solid investment for any welding enthusiast. ... show more

Fits good. Lightweight. I can use it with my read g glasses. Good light/dim reaction. Inexpensive starter helmet. No complaints.

  • Good inexpensive helmet
Style: LYG-L500A-FS
Nice, stylish helmet with a very good suspension system. The headband is comfortable, easy to adjust and stays put even when hot and sweaty. However, the darkening system is too sensitive for use outdoors or even in a brightly lit shop. I fixed mine by putting some painter's tape over the sensors.

  • Light weight full featured helmet
Style: LYG-L500A Bright Black
I bought this as a replacement for a helmet I broke - this is not the helmet I use regularly (it’s a spare hood for folks wandering through the shop wanting to watch welders weld…) - however, I’m impressed with how light it is and how well the lens works - I don’t Have access to a testing lab, so I can’t speak to measurements holding the manufacturer to a specific set of claims. That said, it’s light weight, very comfortable and it worked well for some braising I did to test it out. The headband feels cheap but its easily adjusted and surprisingly comfortable - for short/ quick jobs, I think it’s very comfortable. I don’t know how it would feel all day. I don’t wear a hard hat, so I don’t know how this would work in that arrangement. I didn’t test this around other guys so I don’t know how it would handle flash from adjacent welders - based on the lens performance, so far, I think it would be fine…. The lens is pretty good - at first, I thought it was too bright (I wear a dark auto lens) - the lens on this hood is much easier to use, more clear, and anecdotally, probably a better lens. Shape - to be honest, the hood feels cheap - but it is light weight and very comfortable. It seems durable enough to wear regularly. I cannot wear a respirator under this mask, but I can comfortably wear an m95 particulate mask under this hood without issue. I think this is a good starter mask - I wish the lens was a little bigger (the viewing window is a little smaller than my regular hood, but it’s not bad…) and the clarity is impressive. Overall, I’m happy with this hood. ... show more

  • Works great
Style: LYG-L500A Bright Black
I've had a few of this style helmet over the years. All of the worked well in the beginning, some a bit slow in detection (auto darkening), one would work when it wanted to. A couple of the shade adjustments didn't work so well. And all of them cost me more than this one. I also can't remember any of them working as well as this one does right out of the box.. It's comfortable, adjustments are easy to make for the headband. The shade adjustment works very well. It was easy to find a spot where I could actually see what I was doing at the weld without being too bright or too dark. The auto darkening is so responsive that you almost don't notice it. Good welding helmet for the money. I would buy it again. ... show more

  • Very happy with this
Style: LYG-L500A Bright Black
I am not a professional welder. Predominantly I gas weld 4130. I needed something for occasional MIG welding and this hit the price is right button. I do not have any complaints about this. It's a good value for the home welder who is going to take care of their equipment. I like that I don't have to get dressed up like Ironman to weld my wheelbarrow handle back on. The plastic is on the thin side as it is also on the light side. I take it off and set it down. There is no clear setting. That is fine, I am not in a production inviroment. If I grind I would rather take my time and wear safety glasses not a helmet with reduced visibility. I really like this helmet, it looks professional and has quick response time. I really like plain professional black. It ain't holoween but one day a year!! ... show more

  • Worth it
Style: LYG-L500A-VM
I got this for my 13 year old son so we can weld together. It fits him just right. It took a second to figure out the knobs but works great. He also likes the design. Visibility is really good and it comes with an extra screen.
