Directions were straight forward. It took me about an hour to put together. I had been looking for an electric fireplace exactly like this for a while. I wanted one with storage and really liked that this has an open shelf above the fireplace. The height of this is perfect, it’s not short like others I have seen, but it’s not tall to the point where it looks awkward. When I ordered I was nervous of how light the color would be. The actual color is a little darker than the listing photo. The listing photo kind of looks like driftwood/weathered oak, but this is obviously like a provincial/dark walnut. Which I love. The only con would be that I may have to drill a small hole in each of the shelving areas to run and hide cables behind the unit if I decide to put a DVD player or gaming consoles in them. This TV stand is just the right size for my new 65" TV. I was able to assemble it myself without too much trouble, though it would probably be easier for two people. The only problem I had was that the screw holes to attach the fireplace to the stand didn't match up. So, I put in the two top screws and used duct tape to attach the sides of the fireplace to the stand. It seems to work, so I won't worry about it. ... show more

I put it together by myself, I am 67 year old women. Probably took me a little longer than most. It wasn’t hard. It seems very sturdy. I put a 55 inch tv on it. You could easily go bigger. I was thinking that I received the wrong package at first, but it turned out that TV sand and fireplace came in two separate packages that arrived on different days.
