I bought this camera for snorkeling in the Galapagos Islands. It took OK pictures for the first three snorkels. On the fourth, the viewing screen and lens got all foggy. The water did not seem to come in from the battery compartment, where you would expect it to, but from somewhere else. If objects are not large or close they are hard to see in the viewfinder but lenses are close to the viewfinder area so you just point and shoot. Clarity depends on the water quality. Good quality photos outside of the water

I bought this for our upcoming cruise. I have a 5 year old that loves to take our phone and take pictures. Some he is good at others, not so much, but hey, he is 5. We got this so he could take whatever pictures he wants. It came fully charged out of the box, super easy set up and takes a decent photo, I let him take it in the tub and waterproof seems to stand up. Camera worked fine, some gears buttons looked and felt cheaper but held up u til it was tossed in the water, not thrown but tossed since I was using it already in the water exploring caves at parks. This is an inexpensive little camera that my children love to use. Works very well. The only complaint we have is that the volume is very low for video play back and it doesn't come in pretty girlie colors. Easy to use, batteries work well. Haven't tested it in water.
