We started playing pickleball this year (2023). I ordered 2 sets (4 paddles) made of wood. Both sets were made of plywood. One of the sets was thicker than the other and heavier, too. So I bought this new set because it's made of graphite. It's lighter than the wooden paddles and easier to swing for me. I'll make this set my default paddles from now on.
