This mower is almost fully assembled and comes with oil! Super easy to take out of box, put the handle together, add oil, gas and go! This mower can take a beating and keeps on chugging. I recently mowed over a tree stump, wasnt paying attention, and unfortunately it the tree stump won, so I ordered this one for the second time. Ok, this is to help you have a long lasting mower, after you unbox, locate the oil bag and pour it all in, then without priming the gas or holding the safely bar, slowly pull the cord back and forth about 10 times to get the oil into the engine’s journal bearing and to work into the rest of the internal engine parts. Next pour in real unleaded gas, not ethanol. You are ready to mow as normal. After the season is over empty out all gas and oil from the mower. Next season, repeat the above steps, and continue for the life of the mower and it will last decades for you, Other things to do are to keep a new air filter in the mower each season and change the blade every two seasons. Also, power wash your mower at the end of each season to keep it clean underneath and on top. This will keep it new looking. Make sure you wipe it dry too to avoid rust. Pick up your yard of all foreign objects before you mow and watch out for tree roots and stumps. Good luck! This is a great little mower that will last if you take great care of it. ... show more

I really like this little mower. It came mostly assembled (big plus 👍). I didn't even have to read the minor assembly instructions. It also started right up after I put oil and gasoline in. I rated it 4 stars and not 5 because it is a little bit of a PITA to change the wheels for cutting height adjustments and there are only 3 settings to choose from. This is a major engineering flaw IMO. The other thing is the length of the plastic rear flying debris protection flap. It is too long. It needs to be only long enough to where it slightly touches the ground, also IMO and should also be adjustable if you change cutting heights. This would make the rear flap last a lot longer, especially when you have to back up while mowing. If not for these two design flaws, I would give this mower a 5-star rating. ... show more

Was really disappointed when other reviewers were correct, in the fact that they received a black one. I thought they were off their crackers but that is indeed what I received also. However, I do LOVE my Yard Machines. Super easy unfold assembly, easy start, close cuts for less trimming and so light that you don't feel like you're pushing a car through the yard. I bought this one so I can keep my "red" one over at mom's instead of lugging one back and forth to cut her grass. Just can't seem to get use to that black paint color. It's weird looking. Three cons about this new one is: 1) It does seem to run a bit harder than my old one. 2) The rubber cable clip broke when I was trying to remove it because the cable was twisted upon assembling. I zip tied it. Can always get a new one later. 3) Worse part......the front wheels look bowlegged. They angel inward like wheelchair wheels. It rolls fine but just looks stupid. Didn't feel like boxing it all back up and lugging it to a return center. Long and short is that I love these mowers but I wish this one was more like my 5 year old red one. Helpful tip: The lawn equipment repair guy told me to stop using gas from the gas station and start using TruFuel 4 cycle canned fuel. What a game changer! My old red Yard Machine doesn't even need to be primed each use. The new black one,,,,,I still have to train him. LOL ... show more

Assembly was very difficult and mower has been used about 5 times and it already has overheated despite using correct oil and gas and seems to be on last leg. do not buy this mower

Got it, got it ready and it started right up. Very happy. I like the deck size it's a little lighter than our old one but we have hills and uneven ground and what you lose on deck size you make up in weight. I am a Briggs and Stratton guy and again it didn't disappoint. Price was better than anything around here. Would buy again. ... show more

One thing I was not happy with; the rear flap shield tore off on one end after 3 uses. Seller nor manufacturer would not replace this part since it was past 30 days. It arrived built in a box and was thinking it arrived damaged.
