The Good: “You get what you pay for” rings true for this garden workstation. Two people can assemble it in about 2 hours. Straightforward directions; every piece is labeled clearly—including screws. I lightly sanded and stained every wooden piece to protect against Central Florida molds and other damp damage. The Bad: 1) Most prepared “pilot hole” pieces screw into a piece that does NOT have a pilot hole. So splitting the soft wood is likely if you don’t drill perfectly straight and thereby miss your mark in the opposite piece. 2) Don’t lose any screws because there is only 1 extra screw for each type. 3) Very soft, fragile wood; splinters easily. One piece had to be glued—it was splintered upon arrival. 4) Small: it won’t hold all the bags of soil and amendments a usual potting bench needs to have. And there are no shelves in the 2 storage spaces. Top shelf is very narrow: only small pots fit on it. And there’s no backing for the top half: some lattice or peg board would be nice to hang things. 5) Hardware is low quality: hinges and locking mechanism for the cabinet bend easily. I suspect the door’s hinge will eventually bend and the door will fail. The lock bent when it was attached. I don’t think the screws are galvanized, either. I’ll treat them but rust is likely. I don’t regret building this but I’ll need another to store all my bags of potting stuff and pots. I hope it lasts on my covered, screened back porch. But I doubt it. ... show more

    • If you don't have a power drill, look elsewhere

As others have reported, while many of the pieces have pilot holes for the screws, often the part where that piece will be screwed into does NOT have a pilot hole. Without a pilot hole for the screw, the wood can split, especially when screws are going into the ends or edges of the wood slats. Therefore, I think it is essential that the assembler have access to a power drill to drill the necessary pilot holes. That being said, all of the parts were nicely labeled, including screws and bolts in their own separately labeled packages so finding the right screw for each assembly step was easy. While I was able to assemble the product by myself in about 1 1/2 hrs, having an assistant would have saved some time. The power drill also functioned as a power screwdriver. If using a manual screwdriver, add another 20 minutes for assembly time. As others have noted, the hinges and hasp are not the highest quality, but we will see how they wear. I got this for my wife for Mother's Day and she was very pleased with the finished assembled product. ... show more

Nice bench, looks great when assembled. All parts were in the box and assembly was fairly easy. Only one problem, several screws ran directly into knots in the wood. This made it difficult to get the screw in and when pressure is applied, you could hear the wood starting to crack and in on case a portion of the wood knot started falling out. Solution was to pre-drill the screw holes when knots were in the way. Not a big deal and the bench looks great. ... show more

Great table for the money. I’ve seen some reviews complaining about the perceived durability and sturdiness of this product. Yes it’s made of soft pine, and yes it’s not super heavy but remember you are only paying ~ $120 for this table. Not sure the folks complaining know what teak, cedar or redwood costs these days. For the price you are getting a basic potting table with a nice drawer and a small cabinet. It is stained and maybe treated for insects (smells like cedar). Everything in my shipment fit well but not perfectly, none the less it went together easily and the instructions were clear, at least to me. There are some dowel and mortise and tenon joins which should be glued in my opinion but it’ll be fine without. All the screws and bolts were clearly labeled in individual packets as were the wooden pieces of the table. We are going to put this potting table in an area next to our large vase potted flowers in a space that will be partially covered but still exposed to the weather. Having said that I will purchase some adjustable feet to keep the legs out of rain water and plan on giving it a coat or two of spar varnish or Tung oil. Wouldn’t expect this to last for years and years but is well worth the price. If you are determined to get something that you’ll hand down to generations to follow, this is not for you but I’d still recommend it for the price. ... show more

It wasn't hard to put together but it did take my husband and I over an hour. We did make a few mistakes. The instructions are pictures and we didn't follow the exact order which caused us a few issues. Everything was very well marked including screws. It all fit together fairly well. I just wanted my gardening supplies in one spot and this fits the bill. We have it under a porch so it won't get wet. I think it will fill my purpose well.i like the light green color. ... show more

Is this a fine piece of furniture? No. Is this good value for the price? You bet it is. I wanted a decorative storage piece for an outside trash can, brooms, paper towels, and a few cleaning and gardening items. This is perfect. The hooks to attach to the side were not included as advertised, but I wanted a broom holder anyway, so didn’t follow up with the seller. It is lightweight enough to easily move, but sturdy enough for the intended purpose. We painted it a bright blue to add pizazz to our backyard deck. We are loving it. ... show more

We bought this to use in our camper van as our counter. We added a sink to it and it works great!! The wood is very soft and easy to scratch or dent which is a bit of a bummer but overall it’s done well so far. The top is wood covered in a sheet metal covering. My "builder" friend and I put this together in less than 2 hours - with my tweaks (removed useless shelf and added pegboard). Painted it a lovely shade of blue and decorated with various things I had. i really like the size, cabinet and top. It is light enough to move easily into the garage during the midwestern winter. The wood isn't very sturdy but i think it will last far longer than my previous one ... show more
