    • Quality and compact unit that meets expectations and then some
I spent a good amount of time going through a bunch of manufacturers of these type of walking/light jogging machines and finally decided on the XTERRA Folding Smart Treadmill. Knowing that I and the wife are primarily using this for fast walking I wanted to have a unit that had a power incline along with a more powerful motor that was capable of getting into the fast jogging to running mode so I knew that in fast walking mode the motor would have no issues accommodating that and wouldn't strain under that load. I will say that it came boxed well with the usual scrapes and tears that come with something of this size. Although it is billed as foldable and compact, it is a much heavier unit than I realized and it will take two people to get it to its destination even with it folded down. I had no intention of trying to store this unit or fold it up again once it got to its destination but because it was not as wide or long as some treadmills which was one of my primary concerns, this unit fit that bill nicely. The controls are easy enough and the machine is very quiet. I like that the tablet holder is a full size one that has no issue holding a 10" Fire tablet that I listen to podcasts or audible on while walking. This is a Smart unit and has the FTMS ability built in that essentially allows the unit to broadcast information to various apps such as Zwift, Kinomap, BitGym etc if you are looking for a way to spice things up or gamify your usage. It comes with a free no credit card trial of KinoMap which is neat but I am more focused on listening during my walks. There are probably more of these apps out there and as long as it supports the FTMS protocol then I suspect it will work with this device. Other than pulling up the handles and display and making sure they are locked in there is truly no setup. There is a heart rate monitor built in that senses your heart rate when holding onto the handles with the built in sensor which is surprisingly pretty darn accurate. If you are into any of the Peloton type of guided workouts than I would suggest downloading the Xterra App as it is free with the purchase and has a bunch of guided sessions as well as it has the ability to track your progress using the data from each session on the treadmill. The power incline works very well and I vary that during my 20-30 minute walks and was something I wanted in a treadmill like this and it does not disappoint. All in all this was a good purchase and as of now it looks like it will stand the test of time and has met our expectations for this type of usage. ... show more

    • Great small treadmill for walking or jogging

Great small treadmill for the price. Smaller size but not too narrow. The adults in our house range from 5’2 to 6’ and everybody is comfortable on it, so most people shouldn’t feel cramped during walking or jogging, though the belt might be short for you if you are regularly doing intense sprints or something. Seems durable, comes with maintenance instructions, including a kind of weird tube of goopy silicone you have to apply under the belt on a usage schedule (it gives you an alert every so many hours of runtime) to help it move freely and smoothly. Never had that before with previous treadmills, but seems to be going fine so far so I have no complaints as it isn’t difficult maintenance to do. Also, expect that you may need to adjust the belt yourself a bit after you set it up initially. They provide instructions how to do it and it isn’t difficult, but might be off putting for some. We don’t really run on it at high speeds but for normal jogging and walking to get some exercise it does the trick. If you are looking for something to regularly run at over 7mph, especially for long periods of time, you probably want a more heavy duty machine. In my opinion, great size for small spaces and great value for the price. Ultimately, we chose it over competitors because at least when we bought it they offered a longer warranty on the motor than the others we were looking at. Relatively easy to fold and not terrible to move with the wheels, but don’t expect to be hauling it from room to room on a regular basis, especially if you are smaller in stature. It is still a 100-something lb machine, after all. Use care if you put your phone or tablet on the console tray when you use it, the angle is high and devices have a tendency to slip off if you don’t have a grippy case or get a strap or clip to keep it on. Adjustable incline is manual and minimal, but that wasn’t an important feature for us so over all we are super happy with it and would recommend it for similar users. ... show more

This is a great little treadmill. Since working from home, I've become WAY too sedentary. Blood pressure and labs were not so great, so it was time for a change of pace. I've had this for a couple of weeks and it is perfect for what I need to get me moving regularly. My daily step count is up over 10,000 again! Very easy to move around, fold up, start/stop, etc. Very little noise as well. No issues with it functionally. Easy to assemble out of the box. Little-to-no tools are required (I'm a cheater and used my impact drill). A few things I didn't really like (food for thought really): 1) the plastic guards at the end of the track are useless, cheap plastic. One side was received damaged from shipping. The other I kicked off on accident the first time I used the machine. They hover over the back of the track and will be in the way if you have a long stride. They're not really needed for anything, so I just removed them altogether. No harm, no foul. 2) The area where you can put a tablet forces you to cover the display. I have a wall mounting option, so again, not really a deal breaker for me. 3) I'm not sold on the heart rate monitor. It's hard to gauge it in real time, so I rely on my smartwatch to give me better details. ... show more
