This battery is awesome! It's designed to be used with car audio, which is great. Using this battery you do NOT need a cap on the system as well (as stated by the manufacturer). Thanks to their no post design you have to purchase whatever post/system you want. Although this sucks on the initial purchase all other XS Power batteries will not need new posts (unless you break the posts or switch to a different type of post system). I personally purchased the dual post + side terminal, just so I have the most options for hookups and future possibilities. ADD A DROP OF 3n1 oil before screwing in any posts. This helps to stop stripping! Don't tighten more than 8ft#s (as per manufacturer specs) on the posts. As another customer stated use the main post for very high amp output devices (like 400amp winches and such) The manufacturer suggests a "heat wrap" to b used with these types of batteries, I used foil covered bubble wrap (aka a sunvisor). Mold it into a box that protects the battery from heat. Your battery should last longer (I haven't tested this yet) ... show more

I had upgraded my car audio, to the point that i was going to start building a battery bank but didnt know anything about building a battery bank.... I have always heard and seen others use xs power, i called and spoke to xs about this battery for parallel use in my audio system and was given the thumbs up!! I use two of these, no power drop other than maybe for the alt to catch up after huge hits and bottom 20 hz stuff.... They are awesome, perfect to pair these with a high output alt and your bass will approve! ... show more

    • Not as good as I expected
I bought this battery back in September 2018. The battery started failing around November 2019, but it was hard to diagnose because of the cold weather possibly being the issue. I waited until the spring and warm weather to see if the issue was indeed with the XS battery. The battery would not hold a charge for more than 2 weeks. I called the reseller who told me that I had to reach out to XS customer support to do a refund. I called and encountered a rude person (can't remember his name) who immediately took an accusatory tone with me, asking if I had properly set up the battery (whatever that means) I told him I had no idea what he meant by properly conditioning the battery as I received it charged and that it worked fine for a year before having charging issues. After I called him out on his tone he calmed it down and then proceeded to issue an RMA a few days later. I decided it's not worth the shipping charge and hassle of sending it back and will just dispose of it when I can. I'm starting to think that batteries across the board are made very poorly these days and that we should expect to replace them every year or two. I thought I was doing myself a favor by getting a more costly battery from XS but I was wrong. Going forward I'll just get a battery from the dealer with a warranty or buy something cheap with good CCA ratings. Update September 2020 - I bit the bullet and sent the battery back after the voltage had dropped to under 12 volts. There are two things inherently wrong with this process: a) it costs a lot of money to ship the battery back to XS/John Deere, and b) they will be insistent that the issue is YOUR fault. The person I spoke with via email said that the battery held charge at 13.1 volts. Sure. He also tried to blame it on my alternator even though I'd put the battery in 2 different cars and it would still not hold a charge. I will never buy another battery from these guys. They have the worst customer service and their batteries aren't any better than any other brand. ... show more

Haven't put it to use yet but using a AGM smart charger I can get it up to 13.9 but it comes down to 13.1. Stamped month but not year.
