I have an irrational fascination for inexpensive, yet super-accurate clocks. I have been searching for a consumer-grade *WiFi* clock for about ten years and was shocked when this one popped up, finally. You've already read about how big, bright, and handsome it is so I'll skip all that. I have been trying to figure out how this actually works. I assumed it used "NTP" a protocol your PC uses to fetch the current time from another computer on the internet. I used Wireshark to sniff the traffic for this unit but never found any NTP packets. Someone in another review said that it actually just uses the timestamps on packets it receives on the WiFi connection, but I am skeptical. If anyone knows for sure, please leave a comment. Regardless, it's reliably getting the time and is bang-on accurate to the second. Set up was a little challenging and is the cause for most of the poor reviews. It requires using your cell phone and connecting directly to the clock's built-in web server to share your home's WiFi SSD and password. Pro tip: the server is always running (you'll need a network scanner to find the IP address) and offers a way to change the time zone and (get this) to upload some kind of update to the clock, should that ever become available. I could not be more pleased! I hope the manufacturer (Maoming Yongyao Clock) releases more products like this. It truly is a one-of-a-kind product on Amazon.     • Nice clock but wifi sync was an issue
I really like this clock but I had a lot of trouble setting it up. First - if you leave the batteries in the clock it retains the factory set time and will not beep like it’s supposed to when you hold the 2 buttons when plugging it in. Turns out it doesn’t need to beep. As long as the wifi network appears on your phone. (If you want to hear the beep - remove the batteries and reinstall them). Then, I could not get my clock to connect to wifi. I tried many times with many devices - an iPhone, an iPad, and my desktop. It always said success but never connected. I replaced the clock but had the same exact issue which got me thinking - maybe it’s something to do with my network. After a lot of experimentation I finally figured it out. My wifi password has blank spaces in it. Apparently the clock or the interface to set the wifi info in the clock does not support blanks in the wifi password. I created a guest network on my router and gave it a password with no blanks and it worked instantly. I wish I had gotten the version with a different color for the time and date stuff. Mine is all blue and it’s not super easy to pick out the time when you glance at it. ... show more

    • Pretty good actually
It has a nice display, and fetches the time using NTP over the internet. This is a lot more reliable in Florida than the WWVB standard. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is it doesn't store the "preferences" such as 12/24 hour mode and whether you want the temperature to flash. So if the power fails, you have to drag out the ladder, fetch it down, try to remember how the controls work, and put it back. It has a remote, but that's going to disappear in a week. It does store the Wi-Fi network/password and timezone with replaceable batteries. You put it in setup mode by holding down 2 buttons, so the fact it uses the same WI-Fi name and IP address for setup is fine. It does DHCP so multiple clocks can live on the same network. These are the 2 questions I couldn't get answered before buying it. I might buy more as my WWVB style clocks die. ... show more

It's the right size for the room. It's working. I like it a lot. ⁨⁨With battery backup in case of neighborhood power loss for any reason (usually winter storms), this wall clock meets my need to know what time it is at an easy glance. It took me something over an hour of measure twice -- to get it wrong anyway, but a dab or two of spackle and fresh paint for the walls and it will be perfect in my eyes! LOL 😎⁩ I backed the wallboard with plywood (it's open, unfinished utility space, on the other side) to ensure solid attachment to the wall. The clock is not at all heavy, but I just don't trust wall board, I guess. ... show more

    • The WIFI Feature does not work
I purchased this clock because of the WiFi feature that was supposed to keep it synchronized with network time so that i did not need to worry about keeping the time from drifting. Well, I wasted an hour of my life trying to make it work and there is simply no way to connect it to the local network. Don't count on the WiFi working if you purchase this clock! A WiFi-connected clock is a great idea. However, this isn't it. ... show more

    • Couldn't get it to work with my router.
I had problems connecting to my router. I had this problem with low power 2.5Ghz devices before, in those cases I replace the problem device and switched to the same or similar device using 5Ghz. The 2.4Ghz frequency is very crowded. I was able to connect to my router a few times, was not able to successfully communicate with the device. The instructions were simple I just looked like even though I was connected, with the given IP address the clock didn't get the rest of the information. I really think Wi Fi is a great way to automatically set the time and date, but with all devices you've got to get a good connection. ... show more

    • Love my Wi-Fi Clock purchase. Easy to read from across the room. Accurate. Love it
This thing is HUGE.... and Blue... and keeps accurate time. Checks all of my boxes. Sometimes I don't want it on ( in my home office / movie room ) so have it connected to a smart plug. I can use Google Voice to turn off / on the power to it and when it comes back on, it remember all of it's settings and pops back up with the correct time. I am not 100% sure how accurate the indoor temperature reading is. I have a 20'x12' home office / movie room.. it's on one side of the room, my office desk is on the other. I have two temperature devices and they don't sync up... but my desk gives off heat ( monitors and computers ) so that might affect the readings... but overall.... the Clock's temperature is consistent.... if I feel warm, the temperature is higher than when I feel cold...
