  • Super comfortable, bright screen, easy to use.
Color: Grey
I love these! I’ve had several “VR Glasses” over the years and these are by far the best and the ones I use - and will continue to use - instead of the others. Super easy to get started right out of the box. Love how they feel, very comfortable on my face, especially with the alternative/flexible nosepieces that they come with, as well as the fact that they're very lightweight. Also, I have deepset eyes, so it’s great that the nosepiece can be adjusted to bring the glasses closer to my face. All this makes them easy to wear on your face for long periods of time, which is kind of the point, right? I really love the fact that I can stream movies & videos or do work without the stress on my neck and lower back, which I have a lot of problems with, no matter how ergonomic I make my computer setup. I love being able to lie down and use. I used to have a home cinema set up when I had a larger apartment but am now in a small studio without space for it, so this is a great alternative to that - for one person, anyway. It would be great if there was a splitter cable that would allow me to watch with someone else who has the glasses! That said, using by myself also has the added benefit of keeping others from seeing what you're watching or doing. Ideal if you’re a public transportation commuter or like to work in cafes and have a lot of stuff you want to keep private. The screen itself is bright (and adjustable), clear, and readable, even though my vision is not 20/20. Despite my minor vision problem, the brightness of the screen makes it easy to see everything with only minor blurriness. Still, I’m going to go ahead and get prescription lenses for the insert frame provided by XReal in the package. It would be great if you could just focus the screen on the device, but that would require way more complex optics/lenses and controls, which would only make it a lot more expensive, heavier, and less comfortable (which would defeat the purpose. And you’d have to have separate adjustments for each eye for those with astigmatism, etc. So the prescription insert is the ideal solution.) All in all, these are great glasses and I’m having a lot of fun using them with my phone and my laptop. ... show more

  • Is this the future of gaming?
Color: Grey
I bought the Xreal Air 2s mostly for gaming. I figured I would use them when I play to have a giant screen like the ads say. Well, just like the ads, the giant screen is super bright and clear. Depending on where I’m looking, it looks like playing on my TV or my PC monitor. I got the adapter so it’s really easy to with play my Xbox Series X with the Air 2s. Getting rid of wires someday will be completely revolutionary, but even with the wires today, it’s still a total game-changer. I feel like I don’t have to be hunched over my controller staring at the TV. Laying back on the couch and projecting the screen on the ceiling is super comfortable. Going from Xbox on the TV to on my phone was sweet and really easy because the glasses plug right into my phone. I have a One Plus 10 and got Game Pass on the phone. I use the Xbox controller with Bluetooth and that’s that. That direct plug in is so sweet. This will change how I play on planes I know it. I haven’t tried Xreal with Switch yet but that’ll be next. I like that these fit good on my head. I don’t have a small head by any means so once I got the right nose pads and then got the right adjustment on the arms, the fit is perfect for me. Getting the right fit made the image crystal clear, too. That’s an important part, I had to find the right fit and then it was a clean and crisp picture. The speakers are pretty good, too! I use my ear buds most of the time, but testing the sound on its own, its good to know the speakers on the glasses totally hold up. It’s helpful when I’m wearing them around work for my ears to stay open so that’s cool. I bought them for gaming and that’s pretty perfect. But I’m using them for background media a ton, like watching TV or movies when I’m doing things at home (and sometimes at work!). The easy connection with my phone is clutch. The bright screen anywhere I look is just what I wanted. I like how the carrying case protects the glasses, but the case itself might be too big for my pockets, but real easy for a backpack. Finding the right fit made it so much better. It’s a recommendation from me. I’m liking them and I and hope you will, too. ... show more

  • Lenses too small, too unconfigurable, overall downgrade from Air 1
Color: Grey
LENS SIZE ISSUES: The Air 1 had LARGER LENSES, the part that creates the viewable area in front of your eyes. This means that with the Air 2, you get a smaller (less forgiving) display area that makes it harder to position the glasses in front of your eyes without blurring and cutting off at the edges. If anything, they should have made the lenses BIGGER for gen 2 which are barely big enough as it is. This is especially a problem unless you have a PERFECTLY SYMMETRICAL FACE with no variance in the vertical position of your eyes (not the case for many people). It will be hard to get both eyes aligned with the lenses. IMAGE ROTATION ISSUES With regard to the aforementioned note on facial asymmetry. My wish for the Air 3s: Make much larger lenses, and make it possible for me to increase/decrease the image size and ROTATE the image by physically moving the displays relative to the glasses frames to correct for facial asymmetry (doing this digitally would probably cause loss of resolution). This way, I could position the glass frames in a way that looks flat to my eyes AND get a flat perfectly level image. I'm not asking for much, my right eye is maybe 1-2mm higher than my left. PROS The color accuracy is MUCH better on the Air 2s, the Air 1s have very blown out reds and noisy dark areas. And the softer arm tips make a big difference to comfort. HOW I REVIEWED I bought the Air 2s and returned because it was impossible to position the image without edge blurring and severe perceived rotation. I then bought the Air 1s and found the bigger lenses to be much more livable despite the color inaccuracy and stiffer arms. ... show more
