These are a good starter hearing aid for anyone who has mild to moderate hearing loss. I have been professionally fitted for hearing aids but was really balking at the $2600 price (after insurance) so I wanted to try something OTC first to see how comfortable I would be wearing them, how they would fit, and work. My first set was Apple AirPods Pro 2 which actually work quite well as hearing aids once you take a hearing test. However, I always felt a bit conspicuous when wearing them in normal conversations because people assume you are using them to listen to music or podcasts rather than what they are saying. These xPure hearing aids are discreet but still noticeable to anyone who looks closely, but people will also notice you are wearing an actual hearing aid without questioning what you are using them for. After 3 days of use they are very comfortable to wear for all day use, provide good sound quality ONCE YOU TAKE THE HEARING EVALUATION in the app. The first day using them out of the box I was disappointed but that hearing evaluation and adjusting the hearing aids with the results provided a big difference in sound quality. It does take some time in the app to figure out where to set levels for each of the sound modes. Are these the best hearing aids available? No, but for under $500 they are working well for me after using the app to do a hearing evaluation. Biggest negative is the inability in the HA-Fit app to import an audiogram or the ability to save/restore multiple profiles for each sound mode. UPDATE: After wearing these for a few weeks I decided to purchase a set of professionally fitted hearing aids. After wearing those for a week I was able to go back to the xPure to compare the sound. The professionally fitted hearing aids definitely provide clearer speech in both quiet and noisy environments which they should for several thousand dollars more, but in a normal home environment watching TV, normal conversations, the xPure hearing aids do a good job. I plan on keeping these as a backup pair for situations when my professional hearing aids are being serviced or out of battery charge. ... show more

    • Great for the price, better than a $3500 pair I tried.

I have tried a $3500 Widex 220 and it had problems, feedback, charging . I did not trust them. Then I tried 2 cic units and 1 bte unit. None were satisfactory. Then I got a Vivtone Lucid508. This was the best one of all. The only thing it lacked was enough high frequency gain that I lost. They fit well and charged beautifully, if I could just get the upper frequencies. I had to return them. Then I saw the Xpure, it sounded like the one I needed. Right out of the box, they worked like a charm ! It has the extra HF response without using the setup app. I was afraid the receiver in the ear would be too large for me. I have an extremely small and crooked left ear canal. The fit is excellent with the smallest dome. I downloaded the app, and will set them up right . So far these are keepers, and for a lot less than a "professional" pair !! Thanks Vivtone !! Update 1-8-25. The function switch on the LH unit powers the unit up & down, but does nothing trying to change volume or mode. The switch feels "spongy" compared to the RH side,and looses the "snap'' it should have. This has happened twice so far.Took them both out to do some yard work, for about 3 hrs., now it works properly ! If this reoccurs, I will return them for another pair. I went to a local audiologist who did full test that showed hearing loss in high frequencies near 6000 hz. This is basically the source of my persistent tinnitus. They wanted to sell me hearing aids that were 4500 per ear! discounted to $3000 per year. Yikes. Not insurance covered. I tried some OTC hearing aids on Amazon and this is the best. Case is small like my earbuds but no hinge on the lid. Aids are nice size and fit my (large) ears. Hearing test is straight forward but it should tell you to KEEP pressing Didnt Hear button till you hear beep. It also showed high frequency loss but I then used the equalizer to boost more around 6000hz. Noticable less tinnitus ringing though its still there.
