My daughter owns several Ender 3 Pro 3D printers, so testing this one out was a breeze. She appreciated the enclosed format over the open architecture of her Ender units, this has the ability to create better control over the air and bed temps inside the enclosure. It uses thinner filament than the Ender, thus the finished work will take longer but have better print quality at fast settings. I always enjoy the pictures of a table full of projects that one might believe were all created in one evening, when in reality it took the better part of a week to get them all finished and assembled. It took my daughter over 800 hours to create all the parts for a prosthetic hand for school, even with two printers. All in, this is a fascinating printer with many pricier features that does a great job when set up properly. Take your time and it's a winner. ... show more

I am a professional 3d printer who produces military vehicles from 1/24 all the way down to 1/200 scale which is small and super detailed. At the height of printing, we would run up to 20 printers most of them small and considered basic printers. I could us this review to tell you how awesome this printer is, but I will share some advice with you. First you need to understand there is a learning curve to printing. 3d printing is a delicate balance between print speed, print temperature, print height, nozzle size and nozzle feed rate. Room temperature as well as humidity will affect these settings as will what you are printing. You have to have a good clean nozzle; most failed prints can be traced back to a partially clogged nozzle, it might look good but if the filament is not coming out perfectly straight and off to one side you need to replace it. I have yet to find a technique to completely clean a nozzle. Buy extra nozzles from the start. Filaments are not created equal and switching brands of filament will require finding that balance again. Finding suggestions online for these settings is just a starting point, every printing situation is different and what works for one person may not work for you. You need to find a filament that matches you're printing techniques. When doing detailed prints, a slow print speed and small nozzle size is key. The most important thing is to not get frustrated, do not try to print that awesome print that you want to right off the bat. Do not concern yourself with trying to do fast prints, focus on good prints. You will have failed prints; it is the nature of the beast. This printer will get you started off on the right foot and let you get good prints from the start, but a good print depends on you more than the printer, a more expensive printer will not make you a better printer. 3d printing is a rewarding hobby that is easy to become obsessed with. I find my true joy in the design process now. I hope you read this and are encouraged and not discouraged. This is a 5-star printer, and you can be a 5-star printer too. 5 STARS ... show more

This is absolutely the best beginner printer I have seen yet. We got a perfect print right out of the box. We used a filament we already had for our first test, since it was a known parameter. We have printed with this filament before and knew what to expect from it. We selected one of the preloaded objects. It printed beautifully! Print lines were super thin and barely visible. In the right light, it almost looked molded. Was it as fast as our Bamboo? No, but it is nowhere near the price either. It was comparable to our first Prusa without all the tinkering. And with way more features. If this was an available back in the day it would have been considered a high end printer. It does not leave much to be desired. With its small nozzle you get better detail but slower speeds. Comes with everything you need to start printing as soon as you open the box, including several spools of filament. Fully enclosed, I would not be worried about having a Little helper. We did not try various types of filament, although it can probably handle it. This is a beginner model after all. We have other printers designed for that. But this one is exceptional for what it does. Perfect for beginners and for adults to do with kids, or even for experienced creators who want an extra printer. And, it looks good! ... show more

This printer prints really nice when it's working. after the first print the printer started printing in the air. When I went to calibrate the entire bed at the end it gave me a message - Cannot write to EEPROM. I've since contacted support with no resolution. I can do an initial level calibration but it is only for the middle of the bed. As I'm printing I have to keep manually lowering the Z-Axis to make sure it prints level. There are areas on the bed where it prints too high and the filament won't touch the bed. Overall I got 1 good print out of it and any others have failed. ... show more
