I was provided the arcade2tv-xr for purposes of review by x-arcade. As an avid home arcade hobbies I am always looking for high quality solutions and the arcade2tv-xr fits the bill. It's built rugged and with high quality controls. It easily switches between input modes and makes it easy to move between emulation and consoles. What makes this control deck stand out is the XR/VR support. Arcade Ranger for Meta Quest 3 is a blast and being able to have real controls while playing retro arcade games in VR is super immersing. The co troll deck comes with gates to switch between 4, 8-way and more. Bat tops and ball tops. Convenient place to store vr controllers, etc. The adjustable base is heavy duty and easy to adjust from sit to stand modes. The negatives, because it is so versatile and filled with options, you may want to keep the manual handy so you know how to move between different modes. Would be great to be able to turn off the LEDs rather than having to unplug them. Can't recommend this control deck enough! ... show more

I’ve got mixed feelings on this thing. On one hand, it’s an X-Arcade Tankstick, so it’s really solidly built, has okay enough buttons and switches that can easily be replaced and serviced, and it’s from a well-known brand that’ll be around if support is needed. The stand is rock solid as well. So as an arcade stick itself it’s a really great unit. The problem is that you’re paying a big upcharge here (2.5 times the Tankstick) and the justification for that seems to be based around the VR features which just aren’t quite there yet. Documentation is really spotty and the recommended app for Quest is very much still a work in progress. If you aren’t already familiar with MAME and such and settings up emulated games and configuring inputs and all that stuff, chances are you’re not going to be able to figure it out. They really need a full start-to-finish guide or software suite for people new to home arcade that takes them through the entire process. A few final complaints is that despite the massive price tag on this thing, there’s obvious signs of cost-cutting. The RGB lighting can’t be synced with anything, and they didn’t even bother to include a switch for power so you’ll have to unplug it. At the very least it should’ve had pattern and color and dimming control via a remote, but really it ought to be addressable. But not even having a power switch is ridiculous. Want to use the stick with consoles? You’ll need a bunch of separate expensive adapters that should just be included. And again, for the price, surely they could have officially licensed some ROMs of classic games to include so people new to home arcades could just get playing right away. ... show more

I ordered this arcade console for our game room to bring back a little nostalgia, and it delivers. It works smoothly, was easy to set up, and the controls feel responsive and well-built. It’s a bit heavier than expected—definitely not a "move it around on a whim" kind of setup—but that just adds to its sturdy construction. It’s not perfect for all types of gameplay, but it’s seriously cool for the classics. A great way to mix retro fun with modern gaming. From the moment I took the controller out of the box I could tell it was a solid piece of machinery. After building the base and getting it all set up I was blown away, it's such a cool feeling to play classic games on an old school arcade machine. It's retro yet futuristic at the same time. You have to download Roms of games you've actually purchased in the past to keep it all legal, but I had so many great games. Part of the fun of this is finding and setting up the system as well as the games. Playing classic Soul Edge on this controller in Mixed Reality in my living room is such a surreal experience. Interesting setup. I only have a Quest 2 so I have less of an incentive to use it in full VR but I imagine if I get a 3 or 3S I'd be trying the mixed reality mode. When playing on a TV is pretty much functions like two arcade sticks. Luckily I have the required Brook adapters for each console already but they should've at least included one of either the PS5(FGC2) or Switch adapters. The buttons and sticks are OK and I get why they'd put cheaper ones in since people who care about it will replace it with their own anyway but at this price of $500+ it should be at least a bit more premium out of the box. I don't really trust the sticks for fighting games but maybe other people wouldn't be bothered by them. The stand is designed nicely and still wobbles but not as much as I expected. It's a pretty big setup altogether but still smaller than having an actual arcade cabinet. It's shipped in a heavy box that I struggled to carry through my front door. Overall it's just OK for someone getting into retro gaming and but don't want a full cabinet. Having owned several modded HORI and MadCatz arcade sticks, though, I'd still prefer them over the X-Arcade even if they were unmodded. ... show more
