I got this machine to touch up my wedding ring tattoo, which a shop quoted me $100 for. I figured since it was so simple, and being on my finger would need touch ups, I might as well try this thing. I let me 20-something daughter do the touch up, and she has zero tattoo experience, but some artistic skill. She practiced for several weeks with various needles, colors, transfers and fake skins. But all of that is still a challenge for even the simpleist of tattoos. Her first attempt at the shading left lines, and really only half-shaded the original tattoo. Her second attempt was much better, dealing with inflicting pain on her father I had to keep telling her when it felt too light. So, this kit is great for learning, practicing, and in the right hands probably a very good tool. But think long and hard before your first real tattoo, and practice as much as possible with fake skins like ReelSkin or A Pound Of Flesh. ... show more

This is a great kit for beginners however, it does include cartridges that have smaller needle configurations (meaning less needles in the row) and this type of need arrangement can cause MORE damage to the skin!! Beginners should be using the bigger needle configurations until you get comfortable with needle depth. Watch a simple video or two on YouTube, trust me. I just opened the kit and excitedly used it but now after watching videos I wish I would've done that first! Great kit tho to start off and just learn/decide what you wanna buy more of. This is my first ever tattoo kit, and I really really like it! I had no knowledge of what equipment was needed for tattooing beforehand, but after experimenting with everything in this kit, it comes with pretty much everything you need to begin tattooing. There’s only one thin sheet of fake skin which is fine to practice on, but you will definitely need to purchase a pack of fake skin as this one sheet gets used up quick! But it’s great for starting out. 2 other things I would recommend getting to help your first tattooing experience,(from what I learned so far)is to get some “Stencil Stuff” for placing on the fake skin for your stencil. I tried a few different deodorants for this and they don’t work too great. I haven’t tried any other alternatives but stencil stuff is the best. The second thing would be Vaseline to clean up the ink as you're tattooing. Again, I didn’t know any tattoo tips before buying this off the whim. But the ink would stain the skin as I was tattooing making it hard to see what I was doing, once I started using the Vaseline technique it literally changed everything. So just a few tips for any other new people that had absolutely no tattooing knowledge when buying this. It’s a great kit though and comes with lots of needles and ink, so plenty to practice with. It was not bad I mean better then doing a stick and poke but for some reason the cartridge doesn't want to hold any ink making you have to keep dipping it plus it doesn't like blacking out big areas but maybe that's just a user error cuz I just have the amperage thing at 5.0? I think so I might start playing around with that to see if it improves but ya it's not bad but not great either ... show more

i’ve used this gun 3 times now. the first time i gave myself 5 small tattoos with little to no knowledge about tattooing (NOT RECOMMENDED). since then i have watched videos and gained useful knowledge but still nowhere near ready. Last night i gave my mom a tattoo, she said she didn’t care how it looked and said that she wanted “i love you mom” in my handwriting so i did it. on someone else it is very different. you can tell how far you’re going into the skin and for myself, i went too deep, but for my moms- i didn’t go deep enough. i will touch hers up once it heals and i get more practice. i keep getting told to use orange peels lol. also, the connector to the gun it touchy. sometimes it won’t work, sometimes you have to spin the thing or push it in further. it’s temperamental, but works. i like this gun! easy to put together, easy to use, does its job. perfect for beginners & the supplies that come with the set are really good supplies. i brought them over to show a friend that tattooed for 10 years and he was shocked how cheap the set was that he wants to buy one 😂 definitely worth every penny. ... show more
