  • No degree cuts mentions and non helpful obvious tips..
The book is missing key values, like what angle was used to cut pieces. There was a picture that included the angle but it was covered in sawdust in the pic. Not sure if this is an easter egg hunt or snatch the pebble from my hand book. Also obvious mentions like "make sure your battery is charged" Or, "Stay clear of the cable". Need angles not obvious safety tips. Good ideas BUT don't give me exact measurements of wood length and leave out key values which will make me waste wood and figure out what angle to use! ... show more

  • Shockingly bad building instructions
The designs in this book look great, and it was the nifty wheeled garden bench on the cover that got me to buy. BUT -- Holy smokes, the "how to" part of this how-to book is absolutely wretched. Here are just a few of the problem I hit on this one project: - units are metric - boards are described in their final dimensions, not nominal dimensions, -- so it's never a "2x4," it's (the metric equivelent) of a "1 3/4 x 3 1/2" - some dimension are given as length by width; some are given as width by length - there's virtually no step-by-step procedure, it's move an overview - the steps that are shown are photographed in such a way, it's impossible to really see what part of the project you're looking at - pieces seem to be called by different names at different places I managed to make the bench. I had to back out a few times and re-do because of confusion, and wound up with one irreversible problem which I can live with but which is annoying. Use this book for design inspiration but do not expect much help actually building your projects! ... show more
