HIGHLIGHTS (details below): - GOOD UX/UI DESIGN AND INTUITIVE INTERFACE FOR KIDS - GOOD FOR OLDER KIDS (8-12 range maybe?) - WATERPROOF - GOOD BATTERY LIFE The main reason why I love this watch: it fills a niche for my 9-yo daughter who was too old for her VTech kids' watch, and too young to have an iPhone+Apple watch or any other serious (and expensive!) smartwatch or fitness tracker. There never seemed to be a compromise between juvenile/not-really-functional kids' watches and an adult multi-$100 product. I am also excluding the kids' GPS trackers from this niche because they require a monthly service commitment. This has similar the functionality of the many adult alternatives to FitBit - including steps, heart rate, SpO2, sleep, and several modes of exercise. BUT unlike a similar $40 FitBit knockoff that I own, there was actually some deliberate graphic design and UX/UI thinking put into this product with kids in mind. The package, while not an "unboxing hall of fame" is well-designed and pretty. The watch OS has been very intuitive to my 9-year-old (who also has experience with Android on a "burner smartphone" and a Nintendo Switch). She has been envious of my Apple Watch, knowing full well that I don't play games on it, but can tell time and track steps. So, the VTech of the same price point was not really a suitable kids' substitute, but this one actually LOOKS like an Apple Watch and meets most of her expectations of what an Apple Watch would do. Plus it does have a few simple puzzle games built in, which she has already spent long car rides silently entertaining herself with. MOTIVATES YOUR KID TO EARN STEPS / BURN CALORIES Those stats are right on the watch homescreen, and the watch/app let you set "goals" that, so far, my daughter is excited about hitting. YES, IT *IS* WATERPROOF!! We spent an entire day at a waterpark, and another day swimming/snorkeling in a river. She wore it the entire time, pressed buttons while it was wet, etc. It survived many underwater submersions undamaged. GOOD BATTERY LIFE Without even charging it upon opening, it used only about 70% battery life in a 24 hour period, and this is WITH her being at peak obsession with the watch, so, higher-than-average screen-on time. It has a proprietary magnetic charger, so on one hand it adds to the coolness factor but on the other hand: don't lose it! MOBILE APP TRACKS STATS OVER TIME The mobile app is *okay,* not great. There are some remnants of unfinished UX/UI. It's not the most versatile dashboard, and you need to manually refresh while the watch is connected to get the data onto your phone. VIBRATION ALARM / TIMERS - She's really excited that the alarm just buzzes her wrist, and doesn't make noise (just like I was when I first got my Apple Watch!) LACKING FEATURES For the price, and for a child, you really get a good value compared to any adult equivalent product, so, not really a complaint, more of an FYI: - There does not seem to be any way to get notifications from your phone sent to your watch. She's aware that this is something adult watches do, which resulted in a slight disappointment to both of us. - You can't install additional apps onto the watch, it has the features that it has and that's it. (You CAN customize the watch faces with your own pictures, but that's about it). I would highly, highly recommend this to any child who wants the smartwatch experience but isn't quite ready to be trusted with high-priced brand-name watches and/or doesn't actually have a fully-functioning cell phone that they use all the time. ... show more

    • Great "learner" health tracker for kids!

This is a great health tracker monitor for kids. This review is based solely on my 11 year old granddaughter's setup and use solely on her own. This was done purposely to attempt to furnish a particular and narrow review likely not assessed as such in any other review. And, when I say that this was done solely by my granddaughter, I do man precisely that. She is quite dept at doing her own thing with such devices, and she had no issues doing so once again. To say that she enjoyed setting up and using the device is an understatement, and she proved that she is responsible and interested enough in this to warrant an upgrade to a better and more sophisticated device. She expressed no displeasure at all in the device, but she definitely would have preferred a device that didn't require recharging, especially not so often. My 9-year-old great niece loves this watch, it's perfect for her! She's at the perfect age to start doing fun fitness tracking, and she loves that feature, as well as the watch in general. It's pretty and very appropriate for a child her age. Recommend!

    • A Nice Little Fitness Tracker for Young Kids

I got this for my 11 year-old niece. She really liked it! She's at that age where she is starting to want some nice electronics, and so this fit the bill. It is a nice mix of technology and childhood charm. Some of the features require a smartphone to access, but the watch is perfectly usable without it. It has all of the main functions that most fitness trackers have: heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, sleep monitor, step counter, calories burned, etc. It also has modes for tracking common kids activities and sports. Most importantly, it's fun and kids start getting used to the idea of tracking their health and activity levels. This leads to the development of healthy living habits down the road which is really important at a time when child obesity rates are at disturbingly high levels. At less than half the cost of a Fitbit, this is not only a decent activity tracker, but a very good value. This would make an excellent gift for any child! ... show more

    • Nice kids watch! Does NOT fit adult.

So this is an awesome product for child. If this had a SIM card slot it would be perfect haha. But the 1 star off is solely for the setup difficulty and the strap. So you can’t actually (as a dad) fit the band around your wrist. So you have to have your child stay still long enough to set this up. And for a toddler it’s tough as …. On top of that the login and tracking system setup is a bit of a pain to setup since it either isn’t maintained or just has glitches. Like setting up a user to the watch took several tries! I swear I graduated w a comp sci degree and the site doesn’t give feedback but just rejects creating login etc it’s pain. You have to make sure you confirm the email but in order to do that the system is glitchy and doesn’t send out an email to you to confirm or the system when you hit submit/create etc just doesn’t work sometimes. I understand it’s not an Apple Watch! But for the price for a kids watch it should be easier to setup to track. Make the band easily detachable for an adult and fix the webpage glitches and offer feedback if the site is down or unable to be contacted. I got this for my daughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. She was happy to have a watch like her mom. This is a great fitness tracker for kids to start healthy habits early. It holds a charge, and charges quickly. It tracks various activities. You’re also able to monitor sleep, oxygen saturation, and heart rate. To top it off its waterproof. While the watch works fine. Big five software is crap. It keeps losing my kids data. Had to uninstall and reinstall now I can’t add my kids watch.
