  • The best yet, by far.
Color: Black and Powder Gray
I've owned Garmin watches for years... I can't even remember how many. My previous watch was still working perfectly have many years of use, but I thought I'd try a new one to see if the tech had gotten better. This watch has way too many features for me, but it's easy to just ignore the stuff I don't use. The most important thing to me is the accuracy of the GPS, and this one is excellent. That alone was worth the money to upgrade. The display is also super nice. I do like data, so all the new data that this displays on Garmin Connect is kind of fun, but mostly unnecessary for me. The UI is also a bit bloated for me, but is well thought out and easy enough to get used to. Overall, I'm just really thrilled with this watch. Oh...and it works seamlessly with the Garmin phone app and Garmin Connect. ... show more

  • Fantastic smartwatch
Color: Black and Powder Gray
Bought as a replacement for an abused and overused Forerunner 945 that was showing its age (but not broken, testament to Garmin durability). The Forerunner 965 display and touch screen make this a significant step up and provides far more utility and easy navigation than the prior generation of screens. The functionality and battery life are fantastic and are a real help to me when planning my activities. I like that the watch turns on when you raise it toward your gaze, works well, and that at night the screen is dimmed and simplified. My only longer term question is with the charging connection, this has not evolved from prior generations, and I have found this to be the weak part of the design - sometimes the connections get dirty or the cable breaks and charging can be a pain - wireless charging would be an improvement. ... show more

  • Top of the line fitness tracking
Color: Black and Powder Gray
I have owned Apple Watch, fitbit charges, as well as the pixel watch 2. When it comes to fitness tracking, the garmin is by far the best. The multi-band GPS is super accurate for run tracking, and the stats are super insightful for all of the workouts it tracks. The most impressive thing to me though is the battery life, you can go weeks without even thinking about about charging. No need to remember your charger when you go on a trip. The screen is super bright and easy to read even in direct sunlight. The OS takes a while to get used to but once you do it becomes fairly intuitive. The golf functionality integration is also amazing...get distance to green from anywhere on the course and keep your score with ease. I love this watch. ... show more

  • Very Nice and Also Expensive
Color: Black and Powder Gray
Over all I am happy with my purchase. This watch does everything I want it to including tracking all my activities, being bright in the sunlight, and having amazing battery life even while always on. I get around 11 days of battery life with everything turned on always ( I do have a sleep mode which turns the display off when I am sleeping. ) I never have to worry about charging the watch unlike my prior Apple watch where I would get at most 1.5 days. The price could be better though it would seem you get what you pay for more or less. ... show more

  • From Garmin to Samsung to Garmin
Color: Black and Powder Gray
I had used Garmin for many many years before turning to Samsung for the watch 5 pro. I do think the Samsung is the better smartwatch. I can reply with voice or tiny keyboard on the Samsung. But honestly I didn't use it nearly as much as I thought. Recently I really got onto hiking and SUP. I really needed the navigation on my wrist especially while sup on the river. If I drop my phone, it's gone, so it's nice to Navi on your wrist. I pulled the trigger on this watch and I'm shocked at what it can do. They thought of so much. I really appreciate the hotkeys they added. During activity the touchscreen is disabled. I assigned a hotkey and during activity, I can enable touchscreen, look around the map, look ahead if needed... Then disable the touchscreen and back to not working about water causing havoc on the watch touchscreen. Idk, that's just an example, but I'm shocked by how Garmin just thought of everything. I went sup and had it almost only on the map screen for 3.5 hours and I was worried the battery would not make it.... It only drained 25%. That's crazy for the whole screen to be lit up so long while navigating. This is an amazing watch. I learned my lesson, not going to leave Garmin again ... show more

  • Quite the upgrade from my 920XT !
Color: Black and Powder Gray
Pretty quick learning curve to pick up 75% of the features that you'll use on a daily basis. Lots of customization available to arrange the functions and data to your liking . The other 25% of features in there you'll either not need, or can just dive into later! Beautiful colorful well-lit display. Lots of nice watch faces to scroll through depending on your mood and more are downloadable. Super battery life so far ! Wrist-based HR monitor is accurate when I compare it to the data from my chest strap. Only complaint is the crystal seems to be a magnet for scratches. Wish i would've purchased a screen protector because I already have a few small scratches. But really only visible if you're LOOKING for them, otherwise love my new Garmin! It's motivating me to fill it with workout data! ... show more

  • Glitchy, bad software updates, lack of support by Garmin
Color: Black and Powder Gray
Swim workouts went from bad to worse. Sometimes it skips whole steps in the pool. Sometimes it advances mid lap even though I have disabled autolap and touch input is disabled during activities. Garmin updated how you create swim workouts in GarminConnect, which broke swim workout integration with at least two 3rd party platforms, namely Training Peaks and Final Surge. Now any externally created workouts show every step as a kick set. Garmin supports suggestion is that you just recreate all of your swim workouts that your coach gave you in Training Peaks in the awful Garmin Connect interface. Not a realistic solution. They need to fix their software. The touch screen is way too sensitive to water. I read reviews contrary to this before purchasing, but the screen goes crazy if I am in the rain or shower and drops are hitting it. It keeps forgetting my settings, like the races on my calendar, and I have to manually push them again from Garmin Connect. ... show more

  • Great development.
Color: Black and Powder Gray
This is a great running watch, but it also has many other functions. I appreciate the heart rate monitor, stress monitor, sleep assessment, etc.
