I occasionally ship things that should be treated as fragile, but I have little confidence that any shipping carrier will treat anything as fragile. This stuff is easy enough to cut, it's lightweight enough to not drastically affect shipping weight but still stiff enough to protect fragile goods. Definitely a must if you ship a lot. ... show more

The foam squares arrived vacuum packed. They were unpacked and allowed to sit in the open air for six hours before use. Six hours later, the thickness of the four pads varied from 5/16" to 1/2"--none of the pads were as thick as advertised. The foam arrived vacuum sealed and a bit deformed from shipping. I let it sit overnight and it filled out nicely into its intended rectangle shape. Unfortunately, the foam is too soft and flimsy for my needs. I was hoping to use it for a custom jewelry box I'm making, but the foam doesn't hold the jewelry firmly enough. I got this 4-pack of polyethylene foam sheets from RunNico. They come extremely vacuum sealed, so you need to plan ahead and allow a few days for them to fully expand. For what I need, these are compressible enough. They squeeze down quickly (not like a memory foam) but spring back quickly. They are a little less than an inch thick when expanded--which is what I expected. I'm happy with these. They should work fine for my needs. ... show more

My initial review was going to be only three stars, but after giving this product several days to expand, it turns out it's actually a lot tougher than I realized. For only like $13 at the time of purchase, it's actually a lot of really tough foam for the price.
