I bought this to use with a Jet 8" Variable Speed buffer and it works great. The hight adjustment is better than I expected. The inner pole that slides up/down has notches in the back (see photo) for a positive height lock with no way it could drop over time. The weight of the stand is enough to keep the buffer planted solidly with no wobble or movement under use. Some reviews complain about the plastic tray and plastic buffer wheel holders and that almost kept me from purchasing this. But after 2 weeks of use they seem fine to me. They aren't flimsy and an 8" buffing wheel fits perfectly in each. I am happy with this stand and will probably buy another one for my Grinder. ... show more

    • Love the adjustable height. Best feature!
I received this as a gift (from family member). I love that it is adjustable in height. The top plate is very thick stamped steel and holds my old school heavy grinder solid. I did buy heavier bolts to attach the grinder, 3/8 x 2 works well with a thick cast iron base tool. The base is thick cast iron and wide enough to prevent tipping when pressing on the grinder. Ordered some 3" locking caster wheels to make it easier to move around the shop. Most of my grinding is to sharpen tools, so being on wheels is not a problem. It is a good stand for the price. Assembly is a matter of 15 minutes and includes the allen wrench to tighten the set screws. Be aware it comes heavily oiled so have a rag ready when unpacking it. LOL. ... show more

    • With modifications it is a good stand
1) Don't believe the picture of the mounting bolts on the base plate, they are 6mm bolts and maybe an inch and a half long. 2) Plastic tool tray is too small to fit around the tube. I had to use a vice grip to squeeze the the two halves together so the bolt could reach the nut. I took it off because it got in the way of the height adjustments so no big deal for me. 3) Stability not to bad but I would bolt it to the floor -- it will tip. I received the stand today, put it together and mounted the grinder. I also used the grinder. Unless the tray is important to you I would recommend this and I would buy it again ... show more

    • Fine for the cost
It's fine. The tray is a bit cheap and my guess a bit fragile long term but for the cost it's fine. I added wheels to it and It works in my shop quite well and get the grinder off of my bench

The product review well don't count on the extra hardware to connect your grinder because the bolts are way too short and they're not even fat enough to fit through the hole so over all I think it's pretty flimsy and I would not recommend it be and I put it together already I guess I will keep it But believe me for the price it is not worth it there's more out there that would be more heavy duty than this Thank you for read my review ... show more
