  • Great for heavy tools
Size: 19" x 20-1/2" to 29-1/2" x 29-1/2" Style: Base
This is my second purchase of this stand. They are really stout for heavy tools like large planers that are otherwise too heavy for typical mobile bases. There are a lot of screws to put this together, but it doesn't take too long and it's pretty straightforward. Excellent base!

  • Good product
Size: 19" x 20-1/2" to 29-1/2" x 29-1/2" Style: Base
I purchased this as a Mobil base for my Jet 14“ bandsaw. It does the job and does it well. It handles the weight well and is easy to maneuver around my garage. I would buy again.

  • Excellent Value for Heavy Duty Mobile Base
Size: 19" x 20-1/2" to 29-1/2" x 29-1/2" Style: Base
Just purchased along with the accessory extension kit for use on a 600lb 1995 Powermatic 66. Pro's: - Certainly is very heavy duty. Didn't even flinch, let alone deflect when my 600lb saw was loaded onto it. - Sizing of base within the spec'd range is infinitely adjustable, as opposed to many other models which have pre-drilled holes in increments that aren't always ideal for the specific tool/application. - Very low-profile and does not significantly raise the height of your machines deck after installation. - After replacing the manufacturer supplied pair of fixed casters with swivels, maneuverability is excellent. (also see Con below). - Caster locations for my particular machine setup do not stick out towards the operator and or pose any real tripping hazard as with many other models. - Finish is very industrial looking and understated. No shiny or obnoxious neon colored parts. Cons: - Assembly required is Total. Meaning that you get a big box of parts, and a very large bag of mixed bolts and washers. Predictably the instructions are cryptic at best and could be frustrating to anyone who isn't highly experienced with this sort of thing. Total number of Bolt-sets requiring assembly and installation for both this base and the extension combined is over 50.... (including casters, frame assemblies, etc) Be prepared to spend at least 1-2hrs assembling and dialing sizing this unit for your particular setup. - Fixed Pair of Casters that are supplied with this unit render it only capable of manuevering your machine in one direction only without having to push/pull/drag the unit (which kind of defeats the purpose of having it, imho). Immediately Replace them with another pair of swivel casters matching the factory pair, and it handles like a dream in all directions with very little effort involved, even with a 600lb machine. - You really have to pay attention when locking the frame members together because it is infinitely adjustable and relies on the bolts pinching the frame together instead of thru-bolting it. Too much and you can damage the frame members or cam-out the threads on the bolts, too little and you have a loose and sloppy assembly. Took me a few before finding the sweet spot. - The "feet" aka "leveling legs", are more of a hassle than they are a benefit (imho). They rely on a magnetic connection inside the frame to hold the foot to the adjustment rod on top. They also only leave about 1/4" of clearance beneath the feet when fully retracted, so on anything except a glass smooth and level concrete slab, they will get hung up on you and or the rubber pads will get torn off. I may try to retrofit with a more basic solid spindle replacement, but do not be surprised if you are mildly frustrated trying to use the factory setup. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning. Conclusion: Dollar for Dollar this is one of the best setups you can have on your machines that require mobility without sacrificing stablity. Just be prepared for a few minor headaches during assembly, and purchase a pair of matching swivel casters when you buy this so you can assemble it properly the first time if 360* mobility is important to you. ... show more

  • SHOP FOX MOBILE BASE
Size: 19" x 20-1/2" to 29-1/2" x 29-1/2" Style: Base
I PURCHASED ONE OF THESE FOR MY TABLE SAW OVER 25 YEARS AGO. KNEW IT WAS GREAT QUALITY. BOUGHT THIS FOR MY BANDSAW. THE WHEELS ARE AN UPGRADE FROM THE ORIGINAL AND THE OVER ALL QUALITY IS GREAT. IT IS VERY STABLE FOR A TOP-HEAVY BANDSAW.

  • I have several of these, well designed & constructed, the best off-the-shelf machinery base!
Size: 18-1/2" x 24-1/2" to 28-1/2" x 33-1/2" Style: Base
I have several of these. Cast iron/steel wheels roll easy on concrete. Well designed & constructed, rock solid and the best off-the-shelf machinery base available. No sagging, as all of my machines are mounted tightly into each corner (I recommend adding 1/4" thick stick-on pads to protect the paint of the machine base and remember to size the base to allow for the thickness of the pads). You might have to cut one or two bolts (or simply buy shorter metric hex head bolts locally) which may interfere with machinery access doors (example: lower door of Grizzly bandsaw). Plan B: drill a pilot hole through a bar and tap as necessary to get the bolt heads as low as possible, but only at places where there's interference. This is no big deal and slight modification of any universal base is to be expected, as machine configurations vary. Any self-respecting cabinetmaker will know how to do the minimal and simple metalwork modification. Positions the machine as low as possible to the floor. Caster mounting brackets are substantial and reinforced; casters and bracket positions can be oriented to suit your needs or preference. I have not encountered any situation in which the swivel casters cannot turn a full 360 degrees; just be mindful of bolt length and head up or down, where the casters bolt on. Updated 3/5/2015: Adding the Woodstock D2246A, 36-Inch Bars for D2058A, this base works perfectly with a very heavy Grizzly 12" Jointer #G0609 which weighs in at a hefty 875 pounds! Due to the slightly curved base of the jointer, the placement of the dust port and low-riding pulley access door, I had to shim up the machine with (2) 6" x 18 5/8" x 3/4" baltic birch plywood inserts. This is not the fault of the mobile base, just has to do with the shape of that particular jointer (and most likely also the Shop Fox 12" jointer, which is similar). Absolutely no sagging whatsoever, because by design this mobile base supports the entire weight of the machine at the corners. In fact, the only difference between the D2058A and the lighter duty D2057A are the casters: cast iron/steel wheels for the D2084A, tough plastic wheels for the D2057A. I recommend paying the extra $20 for the heavier duty version, which rolls easier on concrete floors. The plastic wheels will develop small flats if left in place for a long time and make rolling harder to do. Either type caster will hang up and drag on the floor if a chunk of wood gets in the way in my experience, so grab a broom & sweep before you move. Plastic wheels are OK if you prefer, except with heavier machines. This is my 3rd base, would definitely purchase a fourth. ... show more

  • Stable, Easy to move around, a little time consuming to put together.
Size: 19" x 20-1/2" to 29-1/2" x 29-1/2" Style: Base
Pretty good base so far, bought it for my old-school Craftsman 10" tablesaw. Very easy to size correctly, and quite sturdy. My only real complaint is the way that the bolts are set up for putting together the arms is a little time consuming as they want the nylon of the locknut facing "in", which is a bit difficult to start without cross-threading. Ended up putting the bolt on normally, screwing it in past the nylon, then unscrewing it and re-doing it with the nylon facing "in". Once assembled though, so far so good! ... show more
