I bought these led strips for under my cabinets. Everything working great. Here are some (important) tips on installation. (Or, as the "Franz" character from SNL would say, "hear me now, believe me later". Look it up in the urban dictionary if you don't get it) First, DO NOT STICK THESE LED STRIPS DIRECTLY ON THE UNDER-CABINET SURFACE! Why you might ask? 1) You can not clean these LED strips. All electrical components are exposed. They will get dirty and it's almost impossible to clean them. 2) You will likely never get them off or adjust them without wrecking them. It is very hard to lay the flexible LED strip straight and once you stick them to the underside of the cabinet adjustment is almost impossible due to the strength of the adhesive. 3) These bare LED strips stuck to the underside of the cabinet just looks "cheap". So, take advantage of my early mistake and do this instead: 1) Buy some aluminum channels to hold the LED's and attach the channels to the underside of the cabinet. 2) Use the new-fanged 2-sided "nano-tape" to attach the aluminum channels to the underside of the cabinet. How this solves the problems: 1) The channels come with a cover/light-diffuser. So, the LED strip is inside the channel which is covered and can be easily cleaned. 2) Using the channel they will be dead-on straight. Using the "nano-tape" you will be able to easily adjust (and remove, if needed) the lights from under the counter. No holes to drill in your cabinet. This tape is very strong and the channels and LED strips are very light. 3) Looks good. The items I used which I purchased on Amazon are: These channels to mount the led strips. These fit exactly, no cutting Starlandled 10-Pack Aluminum Channel for LED Strip Lights Installation,Easy to Cut,Professional Look,U-Shape LED Cover Diffuser Track with Complete Mounting Accessories for Easy Installation This double sided tape to adhere the channels to the bottom of my cabinets. I was recommended these by my sister and I loved it so much in my kitchen, I bought more for my bedroom. It's super easy to install & use, the fact that it's dimmable and has a timer are great for convincing kids that it's lights out & bedtime. My kitchen has a small window and no light or outlets in the pantry corner so I put these right next to it, it's discreet and beautiful movie night lighting! Then in the br, I have a shelf in my closet that's up high enough you can't see the light strip, but it's cheaper than a lamp, takes up no space at all, and the dimmer is wonderful. ... show more

I purchased these for my workshop to install under my plastic parts drawer cabinets. These light up the back part of my work bench under the cabinets and really help eliminate shadows on the workbench. These were very easy to install. The adhesive has been holding well on the the plastic cabinets. I cleaned the plastic good with an alcohol wipe before installing them. The light strip was easy to trim for a custom fit. I leave the lights on a bright white setting and I am super happy with the light output. Not just for the kitchen! Try them in your shop! ... show more

These are so easy to "install", just pealing the strip off the tape and pressing to the underside of your cabinets. The nightlight setting is great and I leave it on all the time. I purchased two of these kits based on the high customer satisfaction and price. Based on another reviewer's recommendations, I also purchased a package of LED cover diffuser tracks (which @ $36, cost more than than the lights themselves!). I only needed 2-1/2 tracks for my cabinets, so the other 7-1/2 tracks that came with the 10-pack will likely be discarded ($$). Oh, and the special "nano" tape used to attach the tracks firmly under the cabinets is another $7. The tracks are nice, but not really necessary. They help to make the lights slightly less intense (the "diffusion"), but the main thing the tracks do is allow you to install the lights under the cabinets more neatly, in a straight line. Would I buy that accessory again? Probably... (especially now that the price is less), but I would order fewer track pieces. The most challenging part of the project was cutting out a small wedge where some of the cabinets meet. For my project, I only had to cut out three. I think most people who purchase these lights don't bother to cut out any wedges under the cabinets, opting instead to just route their sticky lights around each wedge (there are some photos of this posted). Since I was using aluminum diffuser tracks, I needed to cut a few wedges so the track could continue in a straight line (see first two photos of the finished wedges). It wasn't that difficult using an oscillating/ vibrating saw (see third photo). Using the advice of other reviewers, I held the lights up to the cabinet before installing, to determine if I wanted to face them down toward the counter or toward the back wall. As some here mentioned, facing the lights down does result in a more noticeable reflection of the lights (in the shiny counter), so I opted to face the lights toward the back wall. There's still a subtle reflection in the counter, but it's not quite as stark. These lights are plenty bright on their max setting so no worries about them not being as bright if you opt to face them toward the wall. To hide the power cord, I just stapled the wire under the cabinet in a couple places, and hid the excess cord behind the refrigerator on one set of cabinets, and up into a gap next to the cabinet in the other set (see the 4th & 5th photos). The whole project took about two hours, including putting some colored led lights inside the liquor cabinet. No tracks used in there... just taped the colored lights along the inside perimeter, facing toward the middle of the cabinet (facing each other), so the lights wouldn't reflect as much off the mirror in the back of the cabinet. The colored cabinet lights I purchased from Amazon as well. (See last two photos of the finished project.) After the lights were all installed, I was able to quickly & easily pair one remote to both sets of the [white] undercabinet lights. Even though they are on separate walls, they now turn on & off, dim, etc., together at the same time when I use the one remote. (The colored liquor cabinet lights use a different remote with different features.) To pair (or "match") the second set of lights to the one remote, just hold the button down on the wall-mounted dimmer about 3 seconds as instructed on the manufacturers description above, then use the remote to turn it on/off.
