you will need to do some research for how to connect this to your laser engraver/cutter. Once you have it working, you will be able to engrave round objects. Having the adjustable drive rollers really do enable you to engrave items with varied diameters at each end. When you adjust the rollers and set it up, it really is vital for you to have equal distance from the laser head to get good results. If you are off just a hair, you can always shim under the entire rotary assembly, making sure it is stable. My laser has the x and y controlled on the head/nozzle and the table can be raised or lowered to accommodate items such as this. The table does not move during engraving, only the head does, so shimming is highly likely to be stable. If you have a converted 3d printer or converted cnc router, the table or build plate often supplies the y-axis, so that will be taken over by this device and render the build plate/table inactive. You will want to ensure that it does not move during the engraving process. Lastly, just as any other engraving job, I advise you to take one item and ensure that the settings are correct/optimal since many items can have different thicknesses of paint that you may want to remove (like on a metal mug), or the intensity of burning on a dowel or other wooden object. I haven't used another laser rotary roller so I don't have a frame of reference to compare it with anything else. I can say that this product is well-made and seems sturdy. It rolls smoothly and I was able to successfully complete a test piece. As far as I can tell, this product is a good buy.

    • Make sure it works with your machine
This laser rotary roller for engraving came packed very well. It easily adjusts to hold different items. It comes with feet to raise up the engraver to the perfect high needed. Works good with my machine and was easy to connect.

I have not used this yet from problems with the engraver. However...... I check this out and already I can tell this is high grade equipment. I never seen anything like this before and had to get this when it was offered to me to test. I could not refuse. I read the manual and it says. The engraver must be raised and so there are legs to add to the engraver. This replaces like the build plate on a 3d printer for the y axis. So it will roll the project on the y axis and the laser will mo e still on the x axis. It says there are adjustments on the arms to widen or not to raise the project and for more stability to roll it. Apparently there are 2 harnesses and is only going to use one. Basically use one and if it does not work it says use the other. So a choice of white or black. The program then has to have settings made to it then its normal engraving. Just like that so when my engraver finally gets fixed then it's going to be bring it on and then post it here. Wish me Good Luck with this. ... show more

I'm just getting started with laser engraving and I'm so happy to have this rotary roller! The roller comes with an instruction book, cables and the legs needed to raise your laser engraver machine. The roller width is adjustable to hold items to be engraved - small enough to engrave the side of a pencil and plenty large enough for good sized mugs.     • Easy to Set Up and Configure
This rotary roller engraving module fits perfectly with my laser engraver. It's packed well with each piece in foam and goes together quickly. It comes with the rotary module, instructions, the cable to connect it to your laser, and 4 riser feet to raise your laser's frame higher which is necessary in order to have the required height for the laser to clear the rotary device. It also comes with two cable choices that should be compatible with most laser engravers on the market. It includes instructions for configuration in both Lightburn and LaserGRBL, and about the only thing you'll need to test and fiddle with is the steps per mm setting, which might require a couple test prints. After testing a bit I found the performance excellent, with no issues with slipping or defects due to using an angled surface like a travel coffee mug. All in all this is a great product, packaged well, and with good support from the manufacturer. ... show more

Nice quality with a decent size stepper motor. Comes with all the wiring and instructions. Very easy to install and get going. Definitely a huge improvement for doing tumblers or other round items.
