    • How is something this good so inexplicably inexpensive?
I call a lot of contra dances and I’ve got a headset mic but it’s not easy to share with other folks. I have a wired professional Shure mic, but I always feel limited by the length of the cord and the XLR wire is a chore to make sure folks don’t trip over, plus to wind up at the end of every evening. I saw these ultra-inexpensive rechargeable mics and thought, “For that price, how good could they really be?” But the price was low enough that it was worth trying. Well, let's get the two low-points out of the way: • If two walls are between me and the receiver, I’ve found these max out at about 25 feet in range. • There is a soft static noise when these mics are on. It’s easy to forget about when you’re speaking or if you have music in the background. You can’t really hear it when you’re 20 feet away. But the static does get louder the louder you set the mic volume. That said, my voice is clear when I’m within range of the receiver. It doesn’t cut out unless I walk “too far.” 25 feet (with walls) is short compared to my professional Shure headset, but better than the 15 foot range of my trip-inducing XLR cable, and I’m sure this gets a longer range in the open air. This also came with two cheap pop-filter microphone covers. That’s appreciated because it was a surprise, not listed on product page. But they’re bright yellow and red, and the instructions say they’re supposed to be thrown out after the first use. Ugh. I love that all of this is powered by USB-C and can charge even from a C-to-C cord. (Some inexpensive devices charge only over USB-A-to-USB-C – the wire included in the box.) I also love that the batteries are replaceable in the future. The anti-rolling rings and audio port adapter are also a very nice touch to include. There’s no setting of channel and frequency on the receiver. It is what it is. Less hassle and less customizability. The mics feel nice in the hand and look professional. They turn off and on pretty quickly. For a kit that feels like it came with everything, all it seems to be missing is a travel bag, but I suppose you could just transport these mics inside the original box. Since these mics have a little screen, it might be nice if they displayed battery life while in use and while charging. Alas, they don’t. The text just glows red while charging. All that said, I remain blown away by how much you’re getting for the price here. Sure, it’s not the clearest, best mic on the planet, but for most needs it’s absolutely fine. It feels like I ripped off the company because surely these cost more to manufacturer than the price on the product listing. Or maybe we're all just paying way too much for "more professional" microphones. ... show more

Out of the box, the mic is light as paper, very plastic, and not a very good first impression. The first time I used it, it started to make this loud buzzing sound, and I had to turn it off, and turned it on again and it still made the same buzzing sound. The sound is also intermittent and the volume is very low. Fortunately, I tried it ahead of time, otherwise I would have made a fool of myself in front of everyone. These are packaged nicely and look and feel reasonably well made...And I like the orange and blue pieces to distinguish them from each other. All of that said, these are just okay as far as sound and quality. You can't beat the price for a pair of wireless microphones, BUT, I'm probably not going to use them because you have to hold them REALLY close to your mouth/the sound for them to pick up the sound effectively. I'm going to try them with a different setup to see if that makes a difference, but so far, I've found that they're not sensitive enough and I don't like how close to the mic you have to get for it to pick up the sound effectively. ... show more

    • This wireless, rechargeable mic set works quite well for our rehearsal room.
I was pleasantly surprised with this set of wireless mics, although they are plastic, they are fairly well made and work exactly as advertised. I have a set of wireless mics that I use to mic my band in the rehearsal studio, but I needed an extra temporarily and I didn't want to shell out hundreds of dollars (like I did with the ones I already had), so when I saw this set I had to give it a try. It is very easy to set up, and once everything is charged up, it all works quite well. A couple of things to be aware of - both mics transmit on the same frequency so they can both be picked up by the single receiver. That means that if you are running it into a mixer, you won't be able to separate the two vocal inputs. But since I only needed one, I'll keep the other as a back-up. The mics themselves aren't terribly sensitive, you have to get pretty close to them to produce adequate volume...but that can be a good thing, that way it won't pick up as much bleed from other musicians' instruments and/or voices. The foam pop guard inside the microphone has a very strong chemical smell, that doesn't seem to go away, even after a few days sitting out. The batteries aren't the same size as the standard AA or even C batteries, so if the battery ever dies you'll have to buy a new one (if you can find one). But at this price, it would probably be less expensive just to buy another complete set. Overall impression: These are not meant for stage use, but they are perfect for practice halls, rehearsal spaces or the occasional speech or announcement. I think they are a very good deal considering the price point - you almost can't go wrong. ... show more

I certainly am glad that I ordered these microphones. I charged the batteries completely before testing them and then plugged the receiver into the 1/4" input jack on one of my vintage tube amplifiers. When I powered one of the microphones on I was quite surprised at the sound quality for such an inexpensive wireless microphone. I then tested the second microphone and it worked just as well as the first one. I did not have any problems with feedback at all and got plenty of volume from both microphones. I even played a little harmonica through one of the microphones and was happy with the tone I was getting. I was able to wander about quite a bit with the microphones and did not detect any dropped signal or unwanted noise like I have experienced with other low cost wireless microphones. I'm pretty impressed with these for under $20 and have to give them 5 stars for value and quality! ... show more
