The unit has a large 9-inch wide touchscreen and a camera built into the back of the unit. It comes with a sturdy charging cable for cigarette plugs, a wired small camera for mounting to face the rear, a 3.5mm jack audio cable, and a microSD card for recording dashcam footage. The unit can connect to smartphones using Apple Carplay or Android Auto, mirroring your phone for certain apps and GPS navigation. It has a rudimentary music and video playback function without car navigation should you choose to do so. The phone connection is quick and automatic after the initial pairing with Bluetooth. The only downside to this unit is the weak speaker bult into the top. The volume doesn't noticeably get very loud and little sign of any bass frequencies. The unit can connect to external speakers or connect to the cars built in stereo, and that would be better for sound. The screen is large and bright, and the touch is responsive. The dashcam records clear video of the road, and having the option of a rear camera is a plus. The unit works well as an add-on navigation system and dashcam to any vehicle that did not include those features. ... show more

    • Great way to add CarPlay to an older vehicle
I have an older vehicle that doesn’t have CarPlay built-in, and this was a great way to easily add CarPlay with a big screen to the vehicle. I would recommend that you make sure you have a place to mount this on your dashboard that is relatively flat and level. Although the unit does allow you to adjust the tilt angle a little bit, there’s not that much adjustment because it is pretty low to the dashboard. The installation was pretty easy if you’re not going to install the rearview camera. To install the unit you just need to run a cable around your car into a 12 V power port. If you have an older vehicle without Bluetooth, you can use the FM radio transmitter mode and tune your car stereo to the selected FM radio station. That way you can hear sound through your car stereo. It allows you to play music from your phone which connects through Bluetooth to the CarPlay unit which then transmits the sound through FM radio. To install the rear facing camera you need to run a much longer wire and figure out a way to run it under the panels inside your car to hide the wire. The camera can be installed inside the vehicle so you don’t have to make a hole or drill holes on the outside of your car to mount the camera. You can use adhesive to mount the camera to the rear window and aim it out the back of your vehicle. This makes it really nice to add a back up camera to an older vehicle that doesn’t have one already. The nice thing about the screen is that it is extra wide so you can do a split view showing the rearview camera while also seeing the CarPlay display on the other side. The startup time of the unit is a little bit slow compared to some of the built-in CarPlay units that I’ve tried in rental cars. The start of time for the screen is a little over 30 seconds. If you want to start your car and go right away, this may require you to wait a bit before the CarPlay connects automatically to your iPhone. Compared to other CarPlay units that I’ve tried, this one is faster. There is a front facing camera, but I found that the unit mounts too low to the dashboard for that front facing camera to be useful. You see a lot of the dashboard in the camera view, and it doesn’t give you a good view of the road. If you want a dashboard camera, I recommend getting a separate one that mounts to the top of your windshield. Over I would definitely consider getting this CarPlay unit if you’re looking for a way to add this functionality to an older vehicle that you own. I wish I got one sooner. ... show more

This works great at everything it states it does. It has a sturdy mount that has not given in to bumps or the sun beaming down on the dashboard. Very nice carplay and very easy to use.

    • Item does not match description
I ordered the 9" model and the pictures show a screen with an aspect ratio of maybe 7:4. The delivered one is much wider and shorter with an aspect ratio of maybe about 7:3. The description also lists multiple mounting options but the one we received only has a single mounting option. There is a base attached to the back and there's double-sided tape at the bottom of the base. This is not my preferred attachment method so I was not able to use this at all. I was super excited to put this in one of my older cars! Everything works great, except for making a phone call you can’t hear the person and they can’t hear you very well at all! The microphone and speaker are terrible! Everything else seems great. The camera quality is outstanding. Since you can’t make phone calls, it’s pretty much unusable for me! ... show more
