I usually buy one of these humidifiers, deal with difficult cleaning and filling, hope it lasts 1–2 seasons before getting too funky because it’s so hard to clean, then repeat. Every single humidifier I’ve ever purchased had significant design flaws, but this one seems to have really hit almost everything I’d want in a humidifier. Pros: -The tank is super easy to clean because it is entirely open, not just some tiny hole to put your hand through and try to reach all the corners. -The top pops right off so it’s super easy to fill without even removing the tank. For all of us that have cleaned up water every time we fill the tank this is awesome! -The base can unplug at the unit, not just at the wall! This is a feature that most people probably never think of but is very important when cleaning the base. If you have the cord running behind a dresser for example it can be very difficult to unplug the unit every time you need to wash it. -There’s no annoying bright led on/off light. If you read the reviews for so many of the other humidifiers you will see how many people complain about this one issue. Yes a simple piece of tape may cover those other lights up but the point is they thought this through when designing it. -It has a very nice LED night light feature with three different color options, amber, blue, green, or off. Great feature with a nice ring of subtle light. -It is very compact (.6 gallon) without sacrificing output. It’s perfect for a small bedroom and we actually only run it at about 1/4 humidity level. At that level one fill will last 2 nights and provide plenty of humidity. -It has a clean simple attractive design. -Very quiet Cons: -Only negative so far is that you can’t angle a nozzle on top, the vapor just goes straight up. I liked putting our old one at the edge of the dresser and angling it out towards the room so that there’s no excess humidity on the surface you place it on. So far we haven’t had any issues with humidity forming on the top of our dresser, but just something to keep in mind, especially if you run it at higher levels. I am an incredibly honest reviewer who can’t review every product I purchase, but when I buy something that it’s obviously not well-made or some thing that is very well thought out, I feel I need to write a review. The reason I’m writing this review is because it is rare that I find something where I feel like every little detail was thought of when designing it. This humidifier works well and covers my 900 square foot condo. However, by the end of the season, it still had mold/mildew in areas that couldn’t be reached. I am very tired of having to toss humidifiers after only one season.

I ordered this humidifier last week and within one day of use, my skin and hair are already feeling less dry! I live in Chicago and the winters can be brutally dry here. The humidifier arrived very quickly and it was well packaged and very easy to set up. The humidifier looks very sleek in my home and does not take up too much space (I have been looking all over for a humidifier that would fit the aesthetic of my home). What I especially love is that I can add essential oils directly into the base and it gives off a wonderful aromatherapy smell throughout my house. The humidifier runs for days at a time, so no need to refill it too often. There are a few different light colors that you can choose from for a little ambient light in the evenings. For everything you get, this is a fantastic product at a very affordable price point. I am so happy I bought this and I will certainly be using my Winix humidifier all winter long! ... show more

The humidifier is very effective and the color light options (blue, green, etc) give a good ring of light that is moody. The mist comes out vertically so make sure the surroundings are not close to a wall or object because it can get a bit wet and stop functioning occasionally. So happy with this little humidifier. Small, but holds a lot. It’s amazing to be able to take it apart to clean it or refill without lugging the whole thing to the sink.
