It's a decently built product, but the fingerprint reader doesn't read fingerprints. UPDATE: it stopped working after a few days. I replaced the battery and did a factory reset and now it's working as advertised.

Ok, this case is not bad. It very heavy, and be very careful when the lid opens. We are nailing this case down. The only compliment I have is with the direction. Took a few minutes but we figure it out and got it programmed. WIsh there were more numbers for the code part. Overall it's not bad for the price. Came with a 9v battery, everything works, seems to be pretty reliable, I can’t easily fake a print. Inside light pretty dim, wish it was brighter. Kinda big, doesn’t fit in a small nightstand.

    • Two big issues...
So it's pretty stout and well-built... but I won't recommend it to my friends and family for two reasons. 1. The fingerprint reader is not that good and if I try and access it at an angle (like when I'm in bed!), it flashes red and won't open. I have to angle my hand to be straight to get it to open. It's also a big hassle to program my fingerprints into. They need to come up with an easier way to do this. 2. There are no struts/shocks to prevent the lid from slamming open once it reads your fingerprints. This thing slams open with a vengeance, the lid hits whatever is behind it (in my case, the nightstand) and causes it to bounce/hop in the drawer if you don't have it screwed down. This thing is clearly not a quiet-opening gun safe. I feel like an intruder would hear it and head straight to your room when you opened it. I had to have the first one returned because the fingerprint reader wouldn't take my prints at all. The second one showed up a week later and it worked, but was still a pain to program my fingerprints into. I had to keep the manual with my other important paperwork in case I ever wanted to add someone to the fingerprint list. In all, I wouldn't recommend it. If it had struts/shocks to make the lid open softly, and the fingerprint input was a lot simpler, I would highly recommend this safe. ... show more

Zero complaints about this safe. It has some good weight to it. You can bold it for added security. It stays by my nightstand for quick access if needed. The door snaps open quickly and I sleep easy knowing my gun is secure in a safe.

Awesome solid item. Biometric setup was really easy and there are 2 backup methods including a key in case the batteries run out. The compartment is also lit. I bought these to secure items I wanted out of reach of my children and assorted other things. My daughter went and saw the fingerprint scanner and tried it. Opened right up. My 2 sons, same thing. My husband had the same results. It opens for anyone so now it sits empty in my closet. I guess I could resort to removing the batteries and doing a key only entry but I could have paid a lot less for that. ... show more
