  • Not as big as I had been expecting- this pan makes minis
Style: 12-Cavity Mini Non-Stick
While I was expecting normal sized donut cavities, these make mini/ snack sized donuts that can be fun… although I find this size affects the internal texture, since most of the doughs circumference is baked, leaving much less soft pillowy donut, but more of a chewy/ slightly crunchy bites- more prone to drying out. • Hard to clean, hard to get the donuts out
Style: 12-Cavity Mini Non-Stick
This seems like it would make really cute baked goods, and I usually prefer to use a metal or glass pan than a silicone one. However, these donuts are just too small, so they're hard to remove. That's assuming that you were able to put in a small enough amount of batter to each one that they would actually bake into donuts, and not into dented muffins. Filling these donut molds is also medium-impossible to do with a spoon, unless you want to spill batter everywhere. Each mini donut requires so little batter that I used a medicine dosing syringe to portion it into the molds (it must have been <5ml each). I suppose I should have greased the mold like other reviewers, but the whole point of baking donuts instead of getting them from a bakery was to avoid extra fat, so I used this pan without butter or spray. The first batch I baked was completely stuck and went in the trash. The second was more successful, in that I got the donuts to release by sliding a toothpick in between the cake and the side, then pinching them out with my fingers (yes, they ended up squished). But even then the inside ("baked" side) was hard, smooth and glassy, and brown, while the top was spongy and light in color. I wasn't planning to frost them, so the contrast between the top and bottom made them look a bit weird. Finally, even though the nonstick coating helps with cleaning off the stuck-on crumbs or batter spills, it's tough to clean out these tiny rings. Batter likes to collect and bake on in the seams and around the ring. This isn't as bad as those mini bundt cakes because at least the mold is smooth, but it's still relatively hard to clean without a special brush. Overall, I imagine these would probably work okay as a candy mold, but for baking, after a couple of work-intensive batches I can't say I'm inclined to use this pan again. ... show more

  • Great little treat to satisfy a sweet tooth attack!
Style: 12-Cavity Mini Non-Stick
These donut spaces measure 1 3/4" across. Yes, they are tiny, and that's just enough for one or two little bites. The directions say to put no more than 1/2 tablespoon (1 1/2 teaspoons) of batter in each cavity. I use a plastic ketchup squeeze bottle that I filled with batter with a funnel. 12-oz. Squeeze Bottles 3 pk. - Clear There was no mess at all. The donuts will raise up nicely and not spill over the rims. The donuts cook at 425 deg. for only 4-6 minutes in this very sturdy pan. A recipe for basic buttermilk (I use Saco buttermilk powder Saco Powdered Buttermilk, 12-ounce Can which keeps forever in the frig) plain donuts is included, but it calls for 1 1/4 cups of flour which would fill much more than one tray. I make half. With this basic recipe you can then add a little cocoa powder, any extract flavor or my favorite, boiled apple cider syrup (King Arthur Flour) for cider, crumb donuts. I brushed on a little diluted honey and dipped them into palm sugar. Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Coconut Sugar, 16-Ounce I even tried a low carb batter recipe using coconut flour One 16 oz Bob's Red Mill Organic Coconut Flour and it turned out great. Any store bought box cake mix or homemade recipe will work fine. Donuts fall out easily with baking spray. Fun little pan for kid size treats! UPDATE: I just made the cutest corn bread "floaters" for soup. Used a regular packaged mix (Marie Calendars)and it worked out great. I added cheese and chives. I have some powdered tomato Tomato Powder Organic - 1 lb,(Frontier) and onion flakes for next time! ... show more

  • Love this pan! Works beautifully for all types of cake donuts.
Style: 12-Cavity Mini Non-Stick
Love this pan. I would also recommend buying two (or more). For the majority of baked donut recipes, estimate that ~2 regular donuts = 12 mini donuts and you should be set. I did not realize that a nonstick metal pan required regular maintenance in the form of greasing the pan regularly. Seems obvious now, but most of my cooking items prior to this were silicone trays. For a metal pan like this, I have found that greasing the cavities really well (coconut or extra virgin olive oil) at the start of each day's donuts will last you through multiple batches. For cake donuts, grease the pan once it is warm or you may have donut crumbs instead of donuts half way through. Other notes: * Transferring the batter into a ziplock bag and cutting the corner is a quick way to fill the molds without making a mess. * Depending on the type of donut batter being used and the fill level of the mold, the end product may bake more bundt-like (flat-tops when baking) or springy, perfectly-round donut forms. * If using fruits/berries, cut them into very small pieces to fit the molds! I made blueberry lemon mini donuts and found I needed to cut the frozen blueberries into quarters so that the batter could properly squeeze around the pieces. * Baking times can vary wildly depending on the batter. For the most part, 350F-450F with thick batter, 3/4-filled molds and the donuts will be done within 6-12min. It's quick so you have to be committed to be near the oven for a bit. ... show more

  • So many tiny delicious donuts
Style: 12-Cavity Mini
I’m so glad we got this pan! The smaller size makes the recipe go further & produces a more bite-sized donut with more delicious crust. The nonstick makes the donuts easy to release & remove as well as easy to clean! 10 stars!!
