I bought four of these and they work very well. However, as soon as I added one to my Z-wave network, it flooded the system with constant usage reports. It felt like a DDOS attack to be honest. Anyways, no big deal at all! I checked the manual and looked up all the configuration settings and set them to values that didn't cause a flood of reports. I set mine as follows: -Report change in wattage for 50watts (parameter 5 - Default is 5watts) -Report usage once a minute (parameter 6 - Default is 5 / 5minutes) -Report change in amperage for 0.5amps (parameter 7 - Default is 0.1amps) Once they were set that way, I had no issues at all and I enjoy using/having them. ... show more

I am using this to turn aquarium lights on and off with Home Assistant. It is working great! I was aware this was a 500 series device when I purchased it. I have also read about many problems with the 700 series buggy chip sets when used in a large z-wave network so I specifically avoided them. This works with the Alexa app and I've had no problems creating a routine that it follow and the dimming works perfectly with the app needed to first set it up. However, there is a more limited distance on this model versus their newer model. This requires 2.4 and doesn't support 5.0. It's a very inexpensive way to add alexa control with dimming. I would add that I have set the brightness and have rarely changed it. If you want to change the brightness via voice Alexa I would recommend one of the newer models. ... show more

It may have been the placement, some interference at my place, or user error; but I found the reliability of this smart outlet to be flaky compared to other Z-wave and Zigbee outlets in my home. It does seem like Samsung is regularly updating support of the SmartThings hub (and they've relatively recently sold the hubs to Aeotec) so maybe it'll be more reliable in the future. I've seen that happen with some of my devices. I'm not one inclined to use words like Z-wave, Zigbee, SmartThings, or Aeotec frequently; so perhaps their inclusion here indicates how much I've tried to make this work for me! ... show more

I purchased 4 of these plugs. They connected very easily to Home Assistant and show up as a light so you can control the dimmer function. One of them stopped working 2 days after being plugged in. Home assistant no longer sees it and there is no light in the power button on the plug. The other 3 have only been plugged in to connect them to Home assistant but have not been used longer than that. The plug was great for the 2 days it worked but I cannot recommend these plugs. ... show more

Setup was a breeze, however after several days it is no longer working. Rapid flashing orange light, trying to reset to factory doesn't work. Couldn't find any answers to why it is flashing orange.
