This item comes exactly as described, no surprises. The colors of this foam are nice and vibrant and there is a great selection of colors. It has a good thickness for working on projects that you want to manipulate and bend. It's thin enough to bend easily, but I haven't had any issues with ripping. It has a nice elasticity to it, which is probably why it hasn't ripped. I really appreciate that this foam doesn't smell. I know, strange to say about a craft item, but so many foams smell really strong and chemically. If you put this foam right up to your nose and smell, yes, it smells like craft foam. The colors were great. They are bright and consistent. There was no smell. But unfortunately there was not a consistency in thickness. Some were good then at least 2 of every color were super thin. Others were just a little thinner. *update: The company reached out and and said they fixed the problem of different thickness and issued me a refund. I plan to use this to surface a vacuum chuck to hold wood turnings while I finish them. I was a bit disappointed initially that they were so thin, but then I realized that it actually works to my advantage, as I an use two layers to get the same thickness that I need, and only the top one will wear down. Honestly the sellers pictures don't do this foam justice. The pictures to me look like a lower quality/low density EVA foam. This stuff is actually the real deal, fairly smooth surface (as EVA foam goes), and has decently high density. they not 5.5x8.5 are a little smaller, more like 5.25x8.25 They were good for what I needed them for, But I had to size down the project because I needed 8.5 long...
