Everything is as advertised. Software integration is awesome! AI tools work well. Be aware that you will likely need an exhaust fan to speed up exit of smoke - I have a fan that runs all the time and exits outdoors. So far my only objection. They should integrate the laser cooler into the main box to avoid some of the cable clutter - too many accessory cables in my opinion. Couldn't understand how to get the 'WIFI' integration to work - help was no help - need to call support. ... show more

The XTool S1 is an excellent machine! I've used $10k plus laser setups at work, and it is well worth the money for an affordable home machine. The air filter system does an outstanding job; this is important if you're going to be using this in a room in your house. The XTool software is very good, though it would be nice to see additional image editing features. I haven't used the rotary tool yet, as I've been having too much fun engraving and cutting! If you're interested in laser engraving, the 40W laser is excellent; I also recommend buying the 2W IR laser head- it does a great job engraving metals and plastics. XTool has does a great job making laser engraving affordable and as easy as possible! ... show more

First off Xtool makes an epic laser system and there software is super user friendly. I upgraded from a 5W D1 to this monster 40W S1. What I've been able to do with this machine in 30 minuets would have taken litteral hours and the quality of burn would have been sub par. I can engrave a good 1/16 of an inch with a beautiful black burn in to hard cherry wood with great speed and quality. I've used it to make custom router templates and simple custom signs and treasures. It's worth the price for anyone looking to level up there woodshop. ... show more

I have 4 lasers in my studio. This is the very best of them for two reasons- the first is that it comes with very easy to learn software dedicated to the features of the xTool laser and the second is that the two major control issues of using a any laser- positioning and focus are intuitive with this combination of machine and software. Previously if you bought a laser engraver you had to learn to use 3rd party complicated software like Lightburn or Ezcad and they would only work on PCs. XTool’s software works Apple computers too. I am truly delighted by this new xTool S1 laser and the XCS software that’s free with it and highly recommend it. ... show more

The machine is good easy to use even for a beginner! Software is a bit of a learning curve but trial and error will help!! The con is definitely 100% the smell I have it vented out of a window completely sealed off and a fan on the other side of the box to help pull the air fast and farther still stinks the house up. Had to blue tape at the riser base to go even further on preventing this and still no luck!! ... show more
