Shortly after I wrote this review Yvette from xTool reached out and helps me out with my riser base and sent out an exchange right away. The pass through riser base is only available for purchase on their website. The machine is awesome and very easy to set up and use from xTool’s creative space or lightburn. I have a few lasers and other CNC equipment and this is by far the easiest and produces the best quality of my laser machines. The image quality and speed are pretty amazing! Also, xTool’s customer service is excellent unlike many other laser machine companies. It’s also super fun to use, my other machines are more like using a tool. It’s not a toy for sure but it’s great to have something you look forward to working with! Quick tip, I added clear protective wrap (like 3M’s clear chip guard) to my plastic so it wouldn’t get scratched up or foggy. * Everything was great, except it’s not detailed very well. All the previous reviews point out some features which are mostly as promised, however, the description does not mention the riser (the US version is shown in reviews as the a pass through version for future expansion) is not what I received and is also not noted in the item description requiring another purchase before adding the conveyor unit. Also, previous version had a few more polished finishes also shown in their video promotion and reviews of this product. The chrome detail along the lids hinge area is gone allowing you to see the adhesive strip. I know it’s a small detail but it’s not as shown in the description. I love the machine but it is a little disappointing to see some cost cutting that is so visible. I still love the product just wish it matched the expectations in some of the details. I would rate it higher but didn’t for said reasons. My exception was 5 stars and functionally it has met that. So far it is awesome super easy to use. First one I’ve used but I make the prints in photoshop then put them in the Xtool program. It’s taken some trial and error on my part to get power and cutting speed right but found some pre sets to test on each material to get the color I want.

Amazing product, it works just as it says. The packaging is the best I've ever seen too. If I have any grip I would say they could have made the riser base a modular design...but well done XTOOL

The media could not be loaded. The S1 was delivered quickly and without any damage. Setup and assembly took about an hour. The software/app Creative Space takes a little bit of time to learn. Once use to it the program is not that hard to use it. I definitely recommend watching tutorial videos for both the engraver setup and software usage. This is my first laser engraver and has worked better than my expectations. Lines are very precise and engravings come out looking professionally done. ... show more

When I purchased this and the laser head seemingly died after about 2 hours of use (and couldn't reach anyone at xtool by e-mail or phone), I posted a pretty scathing review here. When somebody at xtool saw my review, they reached out directly and have sent me a replacement head almost immediately. So increasing in stars for the eventual customer service, but xtool...customers should be able to get ahold of you more easily. When the laser engraver was working properly, it was doing so excellently. The IR laser head, which I bought separately, is very impressive with most types of metal. ... show more

Bought this to do some hobbies. It does a great job of engraving and cutting. The only drawback I've noticed is no camera for better alignment. But if you have practice with using the parameters it works great. I just think for the price point of this unit it should've came with a built in camera
