Air assist makes a world of difference! Nice clean cuts with out burn marks, no soot to clean of engravings, keeps lens and other parts clean. The compressor is pretty small and pushes just enough air without blowing your projects away. It has little rubber boots and is very quiet, the hose is more than long enough so you can move the compressor out of the way if need be. ... show more

Works fine. Only complaint is, it’s very noisy, but I guess it’s the nature of the beast and can’t be helped unless you want to build a sound deading box to put it in. Otherwise just deal with it as I am. Ha ha ha!!!

This makes or breaks some of the cuts that I make on wood, plastic/acrylics/ and especially on any designs etched into glass. It keeps the designs from having massive amounts of soot or burn marks on the material. It cools areas around the light which also helps focus the energy into the cut or etch. I’ve ruined pieces by not turning this on until half way through. Would recommend to anyone who wants to improve their speed as well as the depth of the cuts they make. If you like it low and slow then maybe look elsewhere but if you want your projects done TODAY and done right … this will help. Tip: tape a sign to your machine near the start button that reminds you to turn it on… believe me, you’ll regret it one day. ... show more

I purchased the xTool D1 Pro Extension Kit sometime in November of 2022 (and I haven't use the extension yet) and at that same time I purchase the D1 Pro system with the 20w laser with the Air Assist, during this time I've been learning, using and doing wonderful things with this wonderful kit. But my real point on this comment and what I will like to share is that with this vendor Makeblock (including Alex) I experienced one of the best Customer Services in my entire life and this is very important because it gives me the trust to buy what I but from them and feel secure that if at any time I have a problem they will back me up with their support, expertise and do whatever to solve my problem and this is a thing we don't see much on this days, I know this might sound little exaggerated but it's not I really had the opportunity to experience a real customer service and I say this words because they deserve it Thank you Alex and the whole team from Makeblock you guys really deserve this review :) ... show more

This has made my cuts cleaner, and it was easy to assemble. The only problem that I have is that it’s not really ideal if you want a clean workplace. There’s no real good place to put this and the air hose goes all over the place. I also have a lot of extra parts since my D1 Pro came with attachments in the stock parts ... show more
