    • The Best Pizza Cutter To Enter Our Kitchen
We LOVE pizza in this house. It's probably safe to say that we eat pizza at least once a week. The convenience and universal love of this awesome food has made it one of our staples. We often make our own from scratch and let the kids decorate it with the flavors and toppings they enjoy most. Each kid gets a quarter of the pizza to decorate. Which means we need super accurate slices to ensure they get the toppings they want (and no one elses!). We have four (yes four) pizza cutters in our kitchen. With that being said, this one by Westmark Germany is the only one that gets used. This pizza cutter, by far, cuts the easiest of all of our kitchen products. It slices through every kind of crust from thin-and-crispy to hand tossed to thick pan pizzas. I've also used it to cut through large cookies, brownies, and to allow my children to slice up softer vegetables (like celery). I love getting the kids involved in the kitchen, but not all of my kids are mature enough to use knives. This pizza cutter is sharp, but I also feel it's safe enough for them to use without hurting themselves. Because it cuts so nicely, even my younger kids can use it without needing help. Our other two pizza cutters are duller, and because of this do not cut as easily. I really do appreciate the fact that this one slices so nicely. This cutter is really comfortable to use. It has a nice sturdy handle that allows you to have full control. It's light-weight enough for children, but strong enough for even crispy-crust cutting. There is an open hole on the end that allows you to hang the pizza cutter up as well. This isn't necessarily something most people find they need, but we hang up a lot of our utensils for easy access, so this is something I really appreciated. The plastic handle is also textured so you can use it with wet hands without sliding or slipping your grip. As a parent one of my biggest concerns is always cleanliness. How easily can this utensil be cleaned? This pizza cutter definitely wins first prize in our cleaning contest. There are no tight 'hidden' areas where food can get stuck and stay. It's easy to clean and can be wiped down easily without me needing to meticulously scrub into tiny areas. The plastic handle wipes off without a problem, and the stainless steel circle blade cleans remarkably easily. I'm always a huge fan of stainless steel- because I don't need to worry about it rusting. I don't have a dishwasher, but this cutter is dishwasher safe for those of you out there who don't have to handwash your dishes. Like I said, we have four different pizza cutters- so we do have room to compare this one to other brands, and I can honestly- hands down- say that this is my favorite one. It's very durable and I plan on it lasting for many years. It cuts smoothly and has a nice handle that allows full control. Light-weight and easy enough for even my kids to use, and can cut through an array of items with ease. It also washes easily and has no tight spots that allow food particles to get stuck into. **UPDATE** I have had this now for almost 8 years and this is still my favorite one that i have owned! I have went through alot of pizza cutters and they either break on me or do not cut well, which is frustrating! So when I had the opportunity to try this one out I was excited but was also leary. I will be the first to admit that I never thought there was much difference between pizza cutters because all the ones that I have tried haven't worked out to well. I have been going through this frozen pizza phase and have been eating them ALOT, several times a week. As soon as I received mine I had to put it to the test. I always make my husband cut my pizza because it has always been such a hassle and it would tear my pizza up, if you have ever had a bad pizza cutter you know what I'm talking about. Well, this time I cut my pizza with this Westmark Pizza Cutter and WOW! It was like cutting butter and only took a few seconds whereas it would always take a few minutes to cut it! Where this pizza cutter creates such a smooth cut my pizza wasn't moving all around on the pan either. Never did I think I would be so excited over a pizza cutter ! This one is seriosuly amazing! It is made of stainless steel so it should last me a long time! It was really easy to clean as well and it will not tarnish! Also it comes with a 5 year warranty so why not try it out for yourself at such a great price! I had seen a video demonstration online that showed a good way to pre-test a pizza cutter; the demonstrator simply rolled his cutter across a piece of paper on his cutting board and it went right through, splitting the paper. I tried this with the Westmark Pizza Cutter and other brands of pizza cutters and they could NOT cut through the paper, only creased it at best. The Westmark Pizza Cutter cut right through it ! Overall I highly recommend this product! You will not be disappointed but if for some reason you are don't forget about the warranty! I did get to test this product in exchange for my honest unbiased opinion, however that does not influence my opinion nor my review! This Heavy Duty Pizza Cutter by Westmark is really nice, it is black with red trim and is fairly lightweight which is something i really like about it. I don't like having to use heavier utensils. The handle is made of a thicker black plastic with red rubber trim along the center on each side. On one side it has the logo Westmark and on the other side it has Made in Germany. The wheel and body along with the finger pieces are made of durable stainless steel. The wheel is nice and sharp and cuts smoothly along the pizza or pastry. The finger piece is perfect to hold your thumb on and finger up against. The red rubberized pieces along each side of the handle provides you wil leverage to avoid your hand from slipping while in the process of cutting. Overall this is a really nice pizza cutter and i am really pleased with it thus far.
