  • Fired up and just worked out of the box. Very efficent and powerful.
Style: 5000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Remote Start
I used this with a Reliance Controls Pro/Tran 30-Amp 6-Circuit transfer switch. I converted the TT-30P on the unit with a NEMA TT-30P to L14-30R RV Generator Adapter,30 Amp 3 Prong to 4 Prong Adapter. I understood I would only be hooking up 120 volt circuits and did not have need for 240. Given the size of the unit, it felt adequately powerful and efficient. I left eco off and it fired right up on first start on propane with remote start fob (which was already paired). I started with one switch moved to generator from line and tested if it it could tote my Frigidaire FHPC082AC1 portable air conditioner and gaming PC which it didn't even break a sweat on. I flipped a couple more rooms on, another computer, tv, some lights, and barely hit 25% at times when the AC did the inrush of current to engage the compressor and it dropped back down. I kept it under 1.5 kVA and ran it for an hour alternating the loads (supposed to not exceed half capacity for the first five hours). It ran like a top, and I look forward to using the generator again. Very satisfied. performance, and ease of use of the electricity generator. They mention it's super quiet, performs fantastically, and is easy to unpack and set up. Some appreciate that it starts up right away, is easy to carry, and puts out plenty of power. They also mention the remote start is a great feature and appreciate the build quality. ... show more

  • Remote start is awesome!
Style: 5000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Remote Start
I bought this for our new camper and it is exactly what we needed. I haven’t tried it with propane yet but with gas this generator is amazing. Powerful enough to run everything on the camper. Quiet enough so it is not bothersome to have it on when you are outside. The battery that came with it from the factory was bad but Amazon made it right. Now the remote start works flawlessly. No more needing to leave the camper on a cold morning to start the generator for coffee. It is a little heavy if you’re lifting it in to the back of a truck. Easy with two people though. The handle makes it very easy to maneuver when it’s on the ground. We are very happy with our purchase so far. ... show more

  • Powerful generator
Style: 5000 Watts - Gas Only - Remote Start
First time generator owner. Recently purchased a camper, needed a needed a generator. I was impressed at how easy it is to set up, and move around. The best feature of all is the remote start. Nothing like waking up to a few inches of snow and not having to go start a generator. Powered our camper beautifully, and all items that were plugged into it. Not only that it was very quiet. Was recommended this generator and it has not disappointed. ... show more

  • Good generator- quiet, but heavy
Style: 5000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Remote Start
I purchased this generator for my shuttle bus conversion. Upon purchase, I also picked up a high-altitude jet kit, a magnetic dipstick, a neutral ground bonding plug, and a Drainzit for oil changes. Unfortunately, the high-altitude propane kit is sold out and is unavailable anywhere, so that will have to wait. I live at over 6k ft, so the altitude kits are a must. Upon receiving the generator, it appeared that the delivery company had dropped it from a 20-foot building and drug it through the bowels of hell before kindly slamming it up on my porch by hand (the camera footage was slightly humorous). It appears they don't like using their hand truck anymore, even for 100+ lb items. The generator itself had some dings and scratches/gouges, but they were all cosmetic. I unboxed it and proceeded with the mods (altitude kit, dipstick, Drainzit) before the initial startup. Many reviewers have mentioned issues with the auto choke being disconnected and, thus, a no-start situation. They have fixed the issue, and I posted a Youtube video showing what their fix is "Westinghouse Has Fixed the IGEN4500 Automatic Choke Cable Issue- You Won't Believe it! Must See!" (it is basic, but effective and can be done DIY if you need to). For break-in, I added 1.5 gallons of premium gas. 1. I used the included bottle of 10w 30 oil for the first hour of run time with no load, then changed out to a fresh roughly half a quart of 10w 30. I added 6 ounces of Lucas oil conditioner. 2. I ran another hour of no load. With each oil change, I always cleaned the magnet off the magnetic dipstick. 3. I then changed the oil again for a third run of 1.5 hours with a load. I ran a space heater that had a 750w setting and a 1500w setting. The first 45 minutes I ran the heater at the 750w setting, then the remainder of the time I ran at the 1500w setting. 4. I changed the oil for the fourth and final time and it was clear of any metal flakes or other break in material (piston ring shavings, bearing shavings, etc.). I cleaned the magnetic dipstick for the final time, then added a final fill of synthetic. Pros: Quiet Easy to access internals for maintenance (carb, fuel filter, spark plug, etc.) 30A capable Auto start w/ remote start Fuel efficient Build quality Cons: * NONRETURNABLE Weight USB is 2.0, not 3.0 or 3.1 Oil changes can be somewhat difficult/messy without a Dranzit Seem to be delivered with scratches/gouges in plastic coverings (cosmetic, but still not right for a $1k product) Lack of aftermarket parts and/or difficulty sourcing Floating ground only (pick up a neutral ground bonding plug here on Amazon and you will be good) Overall, this generator started quickly with the pull start, auto start, and remote start (which is an awesome feature). It runs smooth and is surprisingly quiet, even under load. The build quality seems to be on par with other generators in this class. The only drawback is the weight of this generator (104 lbs+/- dry). I recommend this generator to anybody looking for a reliable, quiet generator that provides clean(er) power. NOTE: if you are mounting this generator on your rear rv/trailer bumper, it is HIGHLY recommended that you upgrade your bumper with one of these kits here https://amzn.to/3xRogy9 ... show more

  • Quiet, compact, easy to use.
Style: 5000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Remote Start
Straight out of the box, added oil and connected propane. Worked on the first push of the button. Feels like good quality and worked well during the 5 hour break-in period at less than 50% load. Only downside, so far, is the oil change compartment is a bit small for those with larger hands. I've seen online that people will either add an aftermarket oil drain hose, or just take the whole side panel off. Still need to test with higher loads, but pretty happy with the purchase so far. ... show more

Style: 5000 Watts - Dual Fuel - Remote Start
Just set this up today. filled it up with the oil provided, hooked it up to the propane tank, and cranked it up. Started up right away and ran without any issues. So easy to setup and use. auto start button on the unit and a separate keychain is a great feature. recommended.
