My first 3600 generator failed to start after the third oil change just would backfire. Amazon sent me a second one and it did the same thing so if you were having this issue I will tell you what the problem is because after having two Different repair companies work on this thing I finally got to the bottom of the issue no thanks to the Westinghouse technical support. It started great for both mechanics so they assumed it was all set but the second one kept it there and started it every day with no problem till one day it acted up for him so he looked into it mechanically and found that the valves were too tight and if they landed in the wrong place when you shut it off it wouldn’t start now you would think that seeing this happen to two generators in a row that I received that these idiots would know what the problem was. I ended up spending another $150 between the two mechanics In order to finally solve the problem so keep that in mind if you run into this issue ... show more

It's heavy so you may want to purchase one with wheels (I didn't). It works great! I power my fridge, 55" tv, router, modem, PS4, a light and whatever the kids and my wife want to charge as well. Gas seemed to last quite a while and I only put in a couple gallons at a time. Took the advice I saw from another reviewer and bought the power adapter suggested so I can use both circuits to maximize use. No issues or complaints as of yet. ... show more

I ordered this generator because the town I live in has more power outages than some third world countries. (Please do not take offense as I have been to many third world countries so I am speaking from experience). Living in Florida one needs to be prepared for outages due to hurricanes and such, but our power goes out whenever there is a thunderstorm. And to top it off, we seem to be on the end of the line when it comes to restoring power so we can go for 4 hours to a day if situations are bad. (not even talking about hurricanes where we can lose power for days/weeks). So I decided to get a generator that will power a fridge, tv (and peripherals such as roku, cable box, etc), lights and a fan to keep cool. This westinghouse 3600v should do the trick. The generator comes completely assembled and all that is needed is to add oil and gas, Fortunately, Westinghouse has added a quart of oil so I did not need to go out and purchase any...thanks Westinghouse! I added the oil, added a gallon of gas and turned the switch to "ON" and turned the gas to allow the gas to flow and pulled the engine cord and !!BAM!!, it started up on the first pull with barely any muscle. My grandmother could have started this generator because it requires hardly any muscle power to start it up. The generator seems well built, sounded good and starts on the first try. The only negative thing I have to say is that the generator does not come with a wheel kit which I think all portable generators should come with. A wheel kit can be purchased but I did not want to spend another $100 (after taxes), so I reckon I will do without. Overall I think this is a well built generator and would definitely recommend it to friends. ... show more

Always starts on first or second pull. That's critical to me as I have little patience for tough to start equipment. I use this generator to run my rv ac unit on the homestead I'm building in southern AZ. Seems to run about 10 hrs. on the 4 gallon tank, though I never let it run completly dry. Just buy it. A great value. Very happy. Update: Oct. 2019 Still going strong after more than 12 months. I don't use it everyday but when I do I run it all day. ... show more

This generator works really well and comes with everything you need to start providing power on the go. Loudness: I purchased this for both home emergency use, as well as for traveling with my video company. This generator is super loud, but you most certainly can have a regular conversation if you’re near it. You’ll need to hide it behind a wall to help with the noise levels. Power: It provides exactly what’s advertised... consistent power! Oven when I drop a heavy load on it (1000 watt test) it keeps the power going. It has a couple power outlet options that’s great to have. Style: Perhaps the least important when buying a generator, but it does matter. This generator looks great. It’s not huge or super heavy (2 people always recommended to move it around) It does not come with wheels so if you’re planning on moving in quite a bit, you’ll definitely get your work out. Overall: Have used a few different types of generators over the last few years. This one is not the most powerful or the quietest, but it does provide very consistent, stable power every time. ... show more

Upon assembly i made several attempts to start the generator.It starts and stay on between 6 to 9 seconds then shuts off. I then called Westinghouse customer service and was told to take the generator to Northern Tools located on Sand Lake road in Orlando Florida.The generator was dropped off at this location on 6/22/18 for repairs.The generator was not ready for pick up until 8/15/18.I live about one hour away from this location and since i am a senior citizen it is really an inconvenience for me to got help to load this generator for transportation.So before i left the repair shop i requested that the technician start the generator.Guess what the generator would not start.This is after parts were changed.Right now i am trying to negotiate with the vendor to return the generator for a refund.It must be a lemon. ... show more

It's really cold in Texas and the power has been out, I bought this last year and I'm sure glad I did. It is loud, I feel kind of bad running it at night but it's keeping my food cold, me warm and a light on at night. Great purchase to have for a situation like we're having in Texas now.
