  • Great Generator
Style: 2800 Watts - Gas Only
I recently purchased the Westinghouse iGen2800c, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! This portable inverter generator has exceeded my expectations in so many ways. First off, it's incredibly quiet. I was pleasantly surprised at how little noise it produces. We recently had Helene pass through, and I legitimately could not hear this generator running outside my back door over the sound of the neighbor's generators 100 feet away. Very, very quiet. The power output is more than sufficient for my needs, it was able to easily power a fridge, chest freezer, and router, as well as charge several devices without ever leaving eco mode. Portability is another strong suit. It’s lightweight and comes with a comfortable handle, making it easy to transport. I appreciate the compact design, which fits neatly in my garage without taking up too much space. Setup was a breeze—no complicated assembly or extensive instructions. Just add oil, fill it with gas, and it's good to go. Fired right up first try, ran with no issues for 24 hours straight, only being shut off to refill the fuel. Maintenance is easy and straightforward, access to the oil drain/fill port is easy, though I'd recommend using the included funnel to drain the oil, otherwise it spills down inside the machine. The spark plug and air filter are likewise easy to access, though the fuel filter looks like it'll be difficult to change. Maintenance requirements are pretty minimal, and all parts are readily available from the Westinghouse website. Fuel efficiency is absolutely incredible. This generator holds about 1 gallon of gas, and with a fridge, freezer, router, and fan connected, it'll run for 10+ hours on that single gallon of gas. Very, very efficient generator. The description says it'll run for 12 hours at 25% load, but I never had it go quite that long for me. Real world, I'd say expect 8-10 hours of actual run time, which is still very good for a single gallon of gas. Overall, the Westinghouse iGen2800c is an excellent investment for anyone in need of a reliable, efficient, and portable generator. If you're looking for something that'll keep your frozen foods frozen and charge your phone, it's an absolutely great investment. Very fuel efficient, plenty of power for basic appliances, easy to transport, and relatively inexpensive. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Excellent little workhorse
Style: 2550 Watts - Dual Fuel - RV Ready
We bought this generator to help during outages of our awful power company. It's smaller and actually lighter than I anticipated - easy to set up, use, and store. Instructions were also super clear and descriptive. Overall, I'm extremely impressed and look forward to it lasting a long time.

  • Great generator, smooth and quiet
Style: 2550 Watts - Gas Only - RV Ready
I purchased a Westinghouse Inverter Generator Model # iGen2550c on 11/19/2024. The order arrived on-time (2-3 days shipping) in perfect condition and the entire ordering process went smoothly. The instructions that came with the generator were very easy to read and understand. No assembly was required other than filling the oil and gasoline. The generator started with ease and is extremely smooth and quiet. I highly recommend this generator for someone looking for something simple yet supplies enough power to run home essentials during a power outage. ... show more

  • Great dual fuel generator
Style: 2550 Watts - Dual Fuel - RV Ready
This is a review for the Westinghouse iGen2550DFc dual fuel inverter generator. Aside from initially getting a returned unit, which Amazon corrected quickly and smoothly, I'm very pleased with this generator and the purchase process. It's just a bit larger and heavier than my 16 year old Honda eu2200i but is just as easy to move around and has a fair bit of padding on corners and such to minimize the inevitable bumps and dings. I'll only be running this generator on propane but it's nice to know I can use gasoline in a pinch. The noise level on propane is about the same as my old Honda running on gasoline. The tone of the Westinghouse seems a bit less sharp on propane and smells a lot better than gasoline exhaust. Setup is quick and easy and the only tool needed is included with the generator. The unit started on the third pull and produces the expected power with minimal voltage drop and a decent waveform. According to the schematic neutral and ground are bonded but the second page of the manual states 'Neutral floating' and a quick continuity check confirms neutral and ground are not connected. So a bonding adapter will be required if powering finicky devices. I'll update this review if a problem crops up but at the moment I'm quite pleased with the purchase. ... show more
